I had back problems for a while, and couldn’t do pushups for a few years. I did three sets of 9 the other day, and two more sets of ten yesterday. Progress

Get your fat ass off the bed and do this shit, faggot. Also stop asking questions not relative to bodybuilding.

Grab a barbell and start adding weight. And you won’t grow very rapidly until you are in your late teens/early twenties.
And yes, it’s normal since you are not deadlifting, cleaning, pressing and squatting.
Ok, thanks.
How many reps do you normally do?
How many sets?
Is there any significant gain that can be reached from doing more than three sets?
Depends on what are your current goals. Other guy’s routine is not going to help you one bit, as one tailors it for himself by himself through trial and error.
5-8 rep range is generally considered as power.
8-12 - hypertrophy range.
It is thought that legs generally require more reps than your upper body. Biceps tend to fatigue really quickly, so doing more than 16 reps for the biceps is fucking stupid. If you can do more then ten reps with the current weight, grab a bigger barbell.
Smaller muscles/bodyparts w/ smaller range of motion (calves, forearms, rectus abdominis, obliques) require more reps than usual.
You go figure for yourself.
Also, changing number of sets/reps/tempo/time in between sets every once in a while is vital for your progress.
EDIT: Actually, fuck all that, just stack dbol and primo and work till failure
Yeah… I’ve been doing 12 to 16 reps of everything for three sets. I’m trying to stay more athletic and not bulk up to Scwarzenegger size. I would rather look more like Dolph Lundgrin than anything else.
I was just wondering if doing something for four sets would help or hurt, because some days I want to do a fourth set of something, but I don’t know if it has any advantage or would I hurt myself if I did that too often.
The more you think into it, the less you accomplish.
If you want to do another set, do another set. You are nowhere near the level at which you need to micromanage sets, reps, and other minute, precise components of your routine. Train hard, eat big, sleep well. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Eating is definitely something I want to do more of. too bad I’m at my budget’s end as it is…
And I hate most foods…
