Does pure muscle tear easily? I’ve heard that this is the reason UFC fighters are typically chubby, to reduce lesions via direct impact.
How much body could a body builder build
if a body builder could build body?
Stop jerkin’.
Also, what are your thoughts on steroids? You’re in competitions so I assume you don’t, but do you know anyone who does? Do they test you for steroids and stuff at competitions?
Amirite?
My life was bland and boring…had nothing to really achieve besides the same normal shit everyone else did.
What would be most beneficial for you is to get on a real lifting program that involves lower body exercises and real compound lifts. Don’t turn into one of those kids that just does bench and curl. You need to be squatting, deadlifting, rowing.
It’s somewhat difficult finding shirts that fit me well. Most of my clothing comes from PacSun. Their shirts as a rule usually fit me pretty well.
I played football in high school but that was before bodybuilding.
I wish.
I’ve never really heard that. Muscle can tear easily when it is cold and hasn’t been limbered, much like anything else.
I don’t judge people who use them but I do have an opinion on those who use them as a way to get bigger faster without reaching their natural potential. I believe if you’re going to use AAS to get bigger, you need to reach your body’s natural limits first. If you’ve been eating more, lifting harder, doing everything you can for 6 months and you’ve gained not much more than a pound, and you are huge, I can see it. But when you’ve got these 16, 17, 18 year old kids who weigh like 160-170 pounds trying to get hormones and even legitimate AAS, it just astonishes me. Steroids and hormones are not going to do anything but fuck you up pretty good if you don’t research them thoroughly before using them, have a proper PCT, and stay strict with your cycle. Steroids are not a magic substance, you still have to work hard, keep a strict diet, and maintain a good lifestyle to get bigger. You don’t just inject some D-Bol and then sit on your ass all day expecting to grow. Steroids don’t take any hard work away from anyone that uses them simply because they cannot naturally grow anymore, but they do make an ass out of the kids looking for a shortcut to get big, and those are the ones you hear about who get injured or die from injections.
I am completely natural, the class I compete in in my comps are natural classes, but the guy who placed first last year ahead of me was on some serious HGH. They do testing, but people time their cycles up right so that by the time they are finished, all of the steroids or hormones have left their system by the time they start doing bloodwork and piss tests for the competition. I personally will probably never use steroids. I’m doing this to push my body to the limits of its own potential, not shorten my lifespan.
Is it possible to cut that amount of weight in just water weight? If it is even possible, is there risks to cutting 13 pounds of water weight? I suppose I could try cutting a bit of muscle, but I’ve worked damned hard to build up to this weight.
I’ve been trying to do parkour for a while now. Do you think bulking up like you do would conflict with this?
Yes, Parkour (Freerunning for those who do not know proper terms), requires a limbre, balanced and fit physique.
You need to constantly move fast and not lose speed, be able to jump a very high height for an average person, I have not tested myself, but I’m sure a big bulked up body would very easily conflict with maneuverability.
Plus adding extra body weight would make it a lot more harder on your legs (knees especially) when landing from high jumps or falls.
Getting into a gym and toning up is by no means a bad idea for the sport, but bulking up is.
Parkour requires a very large amount of strength to do, for instance, lifing your own body weight with one arm I can imagine be hard to do when you weigh 100+ kilo’s from muscle mass.
A good weight for parkour is about 60-80KG depending on your height, I am 175cm and weigh 60KG, a good balance for the sport.
Wouldn’t it be better to have the agility and endurance over strength though? You need lots of upper body strength to do some of those crazy parkour moves, but you don’t want to be so beefed up that you accidentally bend street lights when you try to swing around them.

U R quite rite.
quite rite indeed.
That’s as good an answer as I was hoping for. Thanks, Coll.
How’s your endurance in long distance running?
Thats one of the most essential parts to parkour, don’t even consider it until you can jog for at least 2km without slowing down or taking a break.
Once you tick that box, work on getting fit and work on balance.
Yeah, I need to work on endurance and running in general. Ever since I had to stop training for karate when I started college, I’ve gotten a bit soft. I really need to get motivated to get out and run.
Depends on how much water you have stored up in your body. Your best bet is to drink a LOT of water in a day, piss as much out as you can, then sweat the rest of it out (sauna, jogging, biking, everything you can possibly think of). Whatever you weigh by the time you feel like you cannot give anymore, both physically and water-wise, is the barebones weight you can get to by shedding water.
Depends. If you get to my size it might become difficult, but a little muscle mass never hurt anyone.
My torso is shaped like an acoustic guitar, and I want it to be shaped like an upside-down flounder. What should I be doing?
@Winged: You should also try to find a point in your city with a lot of obstacles, define a point A and a B and try to go from one to the other by using as many different ways as possible, the faster you can. Also if you can find cheap gym mats you should try to practice your rolls until you can jump from 10 feet without any hesitation. And of course, try to learn basic parkour moves such as catjumps, lachés, wall hops, vaults etc.
mirrors edge IRL?
Mirror’s Edge was a game based around parkour, so yes.
Also, Kaze, do you smoke/drink/etc. and if so, how does it affect bulking up and such? 'Cause most people I know that drink have a more-than-average amount of body fat.
what kind of potential do nunchucks have for maxing my pump
Nope.
Smoking is going to do nothing but tear apart your endurance, stamina, and your overall health.
Drinking does the same really, assuming it’s in copious amounts. Casual drinking won’t kill you, but if you binge constantly then basically it’s just empty calories being stuffed into your body.
