Take a look, does this make more than a little sense? or am I the usual, off by a mile. heres what I have.
Its been bothering me, one of the scrolling monitors in game, it looked familiar, but I couldn’t remember, then it hit me. OVERSEERS…
from an old movie , starring Inigo Montoya and James Caan. They had this writing on their wrist.It was called Alien Nation, also a spin off show, comic books etc. Their language was called Tenctonese.
Thank god there is nothing on the old show “V” … at least not that ive noticed… or “misfits of science” for you old schoolers…
Ive included pictures of it. Compared to the scrolling in game. So reading about the language, I noticed something. The language as 26 letters, is split at the M and N. N through Z is reversed mirror image, the full language I put up, was single letters and cursive. Looks like a match to me. Then I remembered this picture. The one with the inverse digits that are offset by 1. Flipped and reversed. Similar to the Tenctonese. I also spent a little time writing everything backwards, and split, and flipped. I’ll include some pics of what I got the first time I tried. So, again, with the 21 goes into 1. 1/2 and 1/2 go into 1. so first half maybe stays the same, the second half is a mirror of the first half, reversed, possibly flipped for a little more spice. Was also thinking, maybe 21 consonant’s, minus the vowels, Like the word “tenacious” all the vowels, take the vowels away and we are left with 21 then mixed in with the vowels, which are possibly swapped with A B C D E F, reversed, or flipped with offset of 1.
Honestly, with the language match, I think we have something here.
Think of something like this, that 247. Think of it as a LEVEL 7 EVENT, another name for L7 for those in the know is a square. So maybe a Lh7 instead of 247, the L7 being like LIE brackets!
also, with mention of the hats earlier, there are images, of a purple hat with the word QUAFF underneath, could it be a phonetic reverse example? similar to FAH Q. Or possibly even Queen, in Norwegian.
On top of that the random image that the forum assigned as a profile pick kinda looks like a hat with two arrows pointing at it, and it’s kinda purple… And you keep claiming you’re not part of the ARG… EVERYONE GET HIM! HE’S A WITCH!!!

looking up all the images in game, especially at the end of the game, where you get the jump pack. all of those images are taken straight from the CERN archive, if you look up the event and run number, you will find every image that’s there, with explanations on what exactly you are looking at.
I was able to find every image and the experiments. Also, I found MINERVA. Which fits quite nicely. One of the big experiments run at CERN ended on 21DEC12 or 211212 however you want to line it up. MINERVA is a software used in conjunction with ATLAS, ALICE, CERN, etc, to simulate or review data. The images that we are seeing in game are the same experiment but being looked at through different angles and detection equipment.

You can also look up results, papers, images based on names of the people that worked on them or even by dates. Also a lot of info can be found on Cornell’s university library online. I also found a problem that is quite famous, that I had not come across before. Its about a “Pizza Problem” and different Theorems. I liked theorem 5 personally. I’ll post the pdf. Talking about having slices cut to different sizes and an eating contest between alice and bob, and how they could go at different turns while selecting different slice sizes that would equal the same. There are a couple of more rules that go with it. I had run the solution as a key against the 752 hex that we have now with different decryptions and have had some interesting results, i’ll post below. I tried converting the 752 to binary, run through xor, grayscale, and whatever else I could get with it, then ran it against this solution in binary, i’m starting decryption against it in decimal currently. Here are some of the results I have received so far.

There is one part where it looks like It could say something about going together through a minefield. Still working on it, wanted to share the CERN stuff, and the Pizza problem, right now I’m also running the 752 in opposite directions against itself, and breaking off equals, for instance if the first 5 digits of the code as receieved added together equal 8, then running the code backwards, maybe its the first 7 digits that equal 8, so I break those 2 off and put them together, and so on.

to catch you up with the direction I have been going, reading up about the “i even left you a hint somewhere” I looked at his google plus again, his profile pic on there is “Link” from legend of Zelda, and he has One link on the page, its to the Poets of the Fall video , for the song “Daze” reading through the lyrics, and been trying combinations of that, talking ab out setting the world on fire, eclipse, which led to shadow fire,hell-fire shadow time, and so on, eventually came up with “dark age” so I started going through cryptography that was used in the dark ages, middle ages, and one of the first “implied” crypto messages was written into the iliad, about a guy denying the queens advances, so she cries rape, so because the king didn’t want to execute him there, he wrote a secret message and had him carry it to the queens father, and when decoded, he wanted him to be killed, didn’t work out that way, anyhow, his name was Bellerophon or Bellerophontes. oh, also the link for the vide has this as in the URL “di7NMssrqsE”. the theme of the video is a masquerade party and a whole lot of makeup. so, again with dark ages crypto, The Spartans had a code where they wound up parchment around a pole or stick, then wrote the message vertically then unwound it, and sent it on its way. Ive been using the “Scytale” cipher for decryption,. then brute forcing it, and trying different keys.

Hey guys, I haven’t seen this anywhere, yet, though I am pretty sure this must have been found already. I’ll post it anyway, just to make sure:
Just found it at the end of “Forget about Freeman”. Just before you enter that undergroung garage where the marines and the aliens are fighting, there is a little closed off staircase to the left. no clip through the door and you’ll find the sign behind the staircase.
If it isn’t anything new, take it maybe as some motivation. It sure does sound like storm is closely watching you searching for clues. (though this isn’t any news either, I guess). Anyway, don’t ever give up!
Anyway, for what it’s worth, I am actually doing a BM run right now starting from QE and picking up the pizza in the cafetria and carrying the pizza all the way to xen, taking that comment of one of the guards at the end of QE a little too literally (he says something along the lines: “maybe we should bring pizzas…”). I decided to do that, because I found this pizza run challenge, but nobody even seemd to have tried it. So, I’ll just give it a try. Another chance to play BM every once in a while, I guess.
I just replayed all of QE, carrying the pizza with me and checking over every nook and cranny. I noticed nothing majorly different from the original mod release, although I played without noclip. I didn’t want to chance accidentally not triggering something. However, over the course of the past few years, I have also searched every inch of those maps with noclip–needless to say, I’m beyond done with attempting that further.
I noticed two things, one of which has already been noted before–unfortunately, I don’t think either really helps us in a new direction:
First, the taco in the surgery machine room–I honestly just think this was a hint about the taco shack found in the later level:
Second, a random dark “splatter” decal also found in the surgery room that isn’t blood and doesn’t seem to serve a purpose. I recall from the first few days of the ARG, when the IRC channel was extremely active, that Storm (then posing as Code) mentioned being a part of an ARG where cockroaches on the ground in the game created a pattern. From that pattern, the next hint was derived. That said, I’m not casting anything aside without proof that it’s useless:
As for the pizza thing, @wayne_acoba got me thinking about the bringing pizzas comment. Therefore, I listened intently to the guard at the end of the level. This is what he said, and I quote: “It might be a good idea to stock up on some pizzas before we head out.” Now, this could be related to the YOUSHOULDBRINGPIZZAS portion of the latest section of the puzzle, AKA IRC clue 5. This is the suggested punctuation of the clue from the wiki, although many variations can be derived from it:
“This is a message left for Dr. Horn. Just to remind you in case of emergencies that the password to the HALOS files is BENALOHPAILLIER. I have programmed HALOS to send in level seven cases. You should bring pizzas.”
Now, although the security guard saying that could have simply been a device for Storm to encourage people to investigate further (thus uncovering the ARG), one has to wonder why it is repeated in one of our latest clues. What’s the point of it? It is possible we are overlooking something in QE, something big.
That brings me back to the whiteboard with the cascade ciphers hint on it, this one:
Interestingly, this board mentions RSA, a method that uses two prime numbers. Granted, we have looked at this method before, but an interesting thing happens when you break down the codes A - D into their respective divisors. I’ll show you what I mean:
Take the solution for Code A: 1001 – divisors are 7 and 143 – 143’s divisors are 11 and 13.
Okay, so we all know that, eventually, any number (that isn’t prime) can be broken down into its divisors which will, unsurprisingly, be prime. However, some of the numbers in the Codes A-D sequence break down into some quite large prime numbers, which is a key ingredient of RSA. By following the steps above for each of the 4-digit Code snippets, you get the following prime numbers:

Maybe I’m just cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs, but that seems too perfect to me. I mean, we have these 4-digit numbers for what purpose? All we’ve used them for thus far was implementing them as a 16-digit password for Storm’s original site.

As humans, we do tend to see faces in the oddest of things. That said, I’m not discounting it. In this ARG, I discount nothing unless it can be proven false.

I took the 752, copied a bunch of times with no word wrap, then stacked it, then copied it and put it into paint. then made 2 copies of it, had one set as transparent. lined them up, then offset it by 1 vertically. It produced a barcode, I need some help with this though, I have paint, someone with a better program may be able to manipulate it a bit better. I’m hoping playing with the size and spacing may yield something, possibly a code? I’m also going to try the same technique but as morse code. have a look. Remember the image that Flavarans posted before, There was that TF2 Christmas picture that was made by one of the devs I think, it had barcodes on each ID of the characters.

A few years ago portal had its own args that used sstv images and other things that could be heard by using the radios in game in specific locations on many maps. They however where not implemented into the game until an update a good time after the game was released witch included these new files. This arg happens to have radios all over the place including surface tension. As of the last update, the only things heard by them are just dialog from the hecu loosing the battle so there is nothing related to this arg from radios in game. However, due to a few similarities between the portal args and this arg i think there is the possibility that storm might use the radios for the arg in the future if he feels he needs to assist somehow. If it does happen, we will see if it will help us solve our problems iff. Just throwing a few ideas out.
Well, we already have had an SSTV clue given to us… near the beginning of the entire ARG, to boot. Again, Stormseeker can very easily reuse methods he’s used before in some of the clues we get…
I’ve also been messing with tvs and monitors, taking them from one room to the next, I’ve also been trying to stuff tapes into vcrs. Or looking for a tv remote. I’ve been reading up about how keys have been extracted from computers by audio, listening to the actual cpu and some other noises. On top of that, I’ve been trying to listen in to hamming radio signals. via the internet. Lots of programs you can use to monitor, hasn’t gone so well. Another thing, have been looking up satellites as well, their launch dates. There was a launch from Korea or japan, I don’t remember which that fell on a day in the hl timeline. Schools have put up Satellites as well, called cube Sats that you can listen in or see if they are broadcasting anything. Lastly, I played through office complex again yesterday, I went to look at the harrier in dr horns office. I’ve looked at nasa acronyms and found LIE, left inboard elevon, which is like a tail flap on wings, the tail also has a unit callsign. WP which means Wolf Pack. Also, I think it isn’t a harrier, but an f4 phantom. The tail also has blue stripes, this specific unit was used in Japan and korea, I’ve been looking up the serial number on the jet, and have found nothing, so I have been making small grill ciphers cutouts for different numbers found in the game, for instance the sequence used on the pizzas, 1,5,10,16,21, or benalohpaillier , taking each letters corresponding number in the alphabet and using those as grilles as well. And using them as passwords or keys. For example, 1,5,10 against benalohpaillier would be "B,L,I. OR 1,12,9…will try this on the “important text” a. Bit later. But if someone has free time, I started running numbers found in game against time dilation mathmatics, there is actually a tool for that over at dcode.com so maybe the MC is the level designer, or maybe it’s a hint, I tried to look up the team member that did OC, but didn’t find a name, yeah yeah, big info dump, but this is a typical days worth of attempted problem solving, just the volume alone should lead to a solution…at some point

From there, operator licenses can be looked up, also codes.

Well ive been a way for a bit and just been generally thinking about something that Storm said about a Clue/Story being right in front of us? Theres one thing that always popping up in each and every level that ive noticed and i dont think anyone has touched on it.

First thing i thought of was what if BENALOHPAILLIER was actually the Element ID Letters all together. Now some of them such as A, E, R and L have a BUNCH of Elements which could be places in. Ive made a list here of all the possible elements that could be used for it.
Thinking maybe adding the numbers together might come out with something? Who knows. Just a thought.
