[ARG] The Pizza Code Mystery

This might be some interest to you guys.

I’ve been thinking, “21 into 1”, “this unlocks at the start of the end” and “time reveals all” might mean that we will have to wait until the Xen update for some new stuff including

possibly clues to solve the hex code and the " 21 into 1"

The answer may be simpler … not think it can be, but it sure who invented all this must be laughing.
Sometimes when I read their news I think how complicated this is.
Black Mesa team should give us some clue.
Hahaha
Good Work…

FOUND SOMETHING!

youtube.com/watch?v=fPaol-vlJ5M

It’s a Youtube movie entitled “21 into 1” and it has our hex code and a sound like the SSTV recording from Code C. After running it through an SSTV program, it is the exact same photo we got for Code C.

Plus it shows the terminal page that was recently taken down on the background, and the description has the Hex code.

Not really sure if this is someone playing a prank, but if it’s related to the ARG hopefully Storm will give us a yay or nay.

EDIT: Here is the direct link to the video: 21 into 1

… that’s very informative. Great post! <3

So, anyway… how would we go about asking storm for some much-needed information on what we should do next? I’m still not sure if we should keep looking in the mod version, for instance. Is that even still useful? He mentioned something like “the original ARG” in a stream a while ago, does that mean there’s a “new” ARG, and if so, is the “original ARG” discontinued or what? Do we continue looking for clues in the game? Do we have the clues but simply don’t know what to do with it? Do we look further on the web, do we have all the websites, should we keep looking for more, what? Even some simple questions and answers would help us immensely.

I swear, I’m so extremely confused. Ah well, at least I’ve got Black Mesa on Steam in the sale yesterday, so I can start looking in the game for clues. I guess that’s the only thing we know we should do for sure, after that stream a month or so back.

You jumped the gun. I had originally posted a Youtube video that was not formatted correctly on the forum, so I removed it until I could correct the error in Notepad and then re-insert it.

Rather than leave a garbled, broken forum post (which is generally against forum etiquette), I decided instead that I would leave a placeholder and return with the appropriate post.

My apologies if it threw you off.

Nah, I was just teasing you, sorry 'bout that.

Regarding the actual post: pretty sure the video is just random re-upload, like the test-screen that has been uploaded to youtube multiple times. 21 into 1 was mentioned multiple times long before the video was uploaded, the hex was already known, the SSTV signal was already known… basically the entire thing can be dismissed as “old”. Why would anyone upload a valid new clue combined with tons of old crap, on a channel filled with nonsense that does not seem otherwise related to the ARG? Sounds like a bad idea to me, and I don’t believe storm would do something like that.

Had a brief chat with Storm today, guys and gals, and I wanted to make note of a few things (with his permission, of course):

First and foremost, he does read the forums, but he’s got a lot of work on his end so the ARG isn’t his only baby (clearly).

Here’s the pertinent transcript of our discussion:

[EVIL]GunslingersRequiem: 1. Were you really Code_ / 0418 from the forums? 2. Should we spend more effort constructing the story in the game rather than focusing so closely on the web-based clues?

[BMS] stormseeker: 1. yep 2. a bit of both. I suspect if all else fails, something will come along and assist.

To recap, Storm really was Code_ / 0418, so we could definitely take his PM at face value at least in the sense that we are probably on the right track with the encryption methods we’ve considered. Second, the web-based clues are relevant, but we also need to spend some time in the game continuing to look for clues that may assist with the HALOS file and possibly other future assets of the ARG. That said, I have included a new page entitled “Steam Release Clues” under the “In-Game Clues” heading on the front page of the wiki. Please do not hesitate to post whatever you may find that looks important, for we can always weed out (as a collaborative effort) those things we deem unnecessary, or redirect information we already have to their proper places on the ARG. Furthermore, you are all of course always welcome to contribute any thoughts you have to the blog and continue to submit key/keyphrase ideas you come up with. I have a list already in the works, and once I hit a certain threshold I will begin posting them to the wiki in alphabetical order.

Storm also mentioned that, if we are still unable to come up with a solution prior to a certain time, something may assist us down the road. However, I think we should continue to focus our efforts on what we have rather than simply play the waiting game. We owe him at least that much.

As a final note, the Youtube video I previously posted was not done by Storm, and appears to be either a mash-up of clues from a fan or someone attempting to pose as an ARG insider or creator. Either way, it is nonessential.

Good to know.
But now the question is…
WHAT is going to assist us? He didn’t say himself, so then WHO?

I think the point is to do our damndest to help ourselves first

GUYS THERE’S AN UPDATE TO BLACK MESA
BATTLE STATIONS EVERYONE
SCOUR THE STUFF!

?

There was am update today. I’ll go look for new stuff.

What updates do you speak of? To the actual game you mean, as in patches?

EDIT: I’ll check it out, I guess. I owe Storm some DM time anyway.

So i found some things of possible interest.

First, the hatch is back.

This is something i found in Dr. Horns and Dr. Formans office.

I have seen the page on the right before, but not the page on the left. Perhaps someone could find it in the games files. Seems quiet interesting.

And here is some other stuff of possible interest. .

Found a couple more things that may be of interest. First, this room is inaccessible and has an alien body on a examination table, and a number on a far console is readable (and I’m pretty sure it’s not repeated anywhere else, although don’t quote me on that):

Furthermore, I finally stumbled across the mysterious X01 and X02 rooms again–they both say the same thing on them: “Macroscale Quantum System”:

Anyhow, I’ve done my due diligence for tonight. I owe the developers some MP tomorrow, but I’m cashing in for tonight.

And yet, I still don’t know if the old mod version still has any significance. ;_;

Probably not anymore. I doubt they will update it (or at least as fast, anyways.

EDIT:

Where are these, exactly?

(Another thing: I actually mentioned the update, and then immediately after thought “oh, this was a small update. I don’t think anything new is there.” Thank god I didn’t make myself look like an idiot.)

Yes, those numbers are found elsewhere in QE. On some machines it will be 483 525, on another 483 525 267 and the longest one I’ve seen is in three rows. Row one = 483 525, Row two= 483 267 and Row three=267 533

Ok good–that clears that up. And @Doctor Pie, both rooms are at the end of the horseshoe-shaped hallways in the upper level of the lab.

EDIT: I’ve also been meaning to ask–do you think we can rely on tools like CrypTool2 to solve the HALOS file, or are we wasting our time? We could have come across the solution multiple times, but without having a tool that we know works, it’s useless. Any thoughts on that?

EDIT 2: Just entered Questionable Ethics for the Steam release version. I fully intend to check every single nook and cranny.

I should also note that there is a panel at the bottom of Residue Processing where cockroaches seem to be running in patterns–an “X” pattern primarily. I recall Storm mentioning a previous ARG that he was a part of where cockroach movements were mapped and led to the next gate, so I figured I’d include it. If you want to find it for yourself, it’s in the area with all the conveyer belts, and you drop down to the very bottom of the roundish room. What is odd is they only run within the middle of the panel, and they often recreate an “X” symbol.

Might be one for a No Clip to check the other side of it. Anything could be under there either on the other side, possible notes, or something directly down from it on another level of that map?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
