[ARG] The Pizza Code Mystery

Keep in mind too that it could be a fluke. Glitch, perhaps, which is why they only run in one direction in one area.

If that’s the case then the password is ā€œxā€ or ā€œcrossā€ probably, which matches up with the lies image.

Found the area you were talking about and no-clipping revealed nothing. Obviously, ā€˜X’ doesn’t mark the spot.

New Idea:
If this particular instance reveals an ā€˜X’ perhaps other instances will reveal them spelling out other letters of the alphabet revealing our clue! Now, who wants to go through the game one more time searching for cockroaches? Any one here an experienced exterminator or perhaps, enjoys looking for ā€˜bugs’ in games?

Well the first order of business is hopefully for Storm to tell us if this is a wild goose chase or not because you are talking a serious investment

I think its only a glitch.

I posted a video of it if you want to see if you want to see it.

Found another " The pizza is a LIE!" graffiti and bio-dome logo in the first map of blast pit. It was hidden in the toxic sludge in the toxic pool. Obviously requires no clip and god mode.

There was also another ā€œthe pizza is a LIE!ā€ graffiti that the player could swim to without dying behind the rail in the same map.

Been a while since I’ve posted here. Since someone brought up Residue Processing, I just remembered something I found months ago. One of the Vox announcements from Anomalous Materials mentioned some of the scientists from QE reporting to waste processing. Someone might want to check the game sound files just to be sure.

Not 100% sure but I believe there were some roaches under the boxes somewhere around the big freight elevator in UC. As in, they scatter when you break the wooden crates.

Hey, I’m new to the ARG but will attempt to collect and digest all the information in this thread in the near holidays.
Anyway, I decided to start at the open wound, the 752 cipher, as it was the easiest to understand in terms of its role in
the ARG. Since I’m a complete scrub when it comes to cryptography and all this technical jumbomumbo, I started by looking up the number
752 in the OEIS, which yielded little to no results. The first sequence mentioned something about binary languages, doesn’t look like much
to me, but then again who am I to judge. I’ll include the link for completion’s sake. I next looked up the number 376, which brought up
more interesting results. Downplaying the chance of a simple coincidence, the number 376 is part of a sequence named ā€œTau numbersā€,
which relates to the 21 in 1 clue in the way that the triangle numbers were conceived by Gauss, which relates to the Gauss rifle, which
is also called Tau cannon, which in turn points to the Tau numbers. 21 in 1 -> Triangle numbers -> Gauss -> Gauss rifle -> Tau cannon -> Tau numbers.
I wouldn’t know what do with this information in the case that it were plausible and correct, but I hope someone here does.

376 Refactorable numbers (Tau numbers): https://oeis.org/A033950

By the way, since it seems like we’re opening more doors than we’re closing, has someone made a list of all the un-used hints and information
we’ve received? What about AI5BM, what about BENALLOHPAILLIER, what about the LIEs image?

Very interesting about the Tau numbers (and it does fit in with the Tau cannon), but the numbers we get in decimal format don’t fit the construct of the Tau numbers:

Definitely like that you’re thinking outside the box on this one, though.

No. The wiki is horribly outdated.

To be quite frank, I see no point. There’s so much data that even compiling it will still leave a jumble of gunk. We need an ā€œAHAā€ moment that will allow us to go back and see where each of the pieces fit (if they do). Until I find that ā€œAHAā€ moment, I’m not too stressed about the extra information we have. Focus on KXBM, BMRF, the Lies.jpg image, the IRC clues, and whatever we may come across in this new version of BM. There are probably many things we have yet to find in the Steam release. Otherwise, you’re just creating a larger pile of muck/hay/shit to sift through.

The point is that we haven’t all been here from the start. You may have a clear view of what is new information and what isn’t, but others (such as those just joining in, from the Steam release) may not. Unless you want people to continuously repeat what has already been said a hundred times, a clearer overview of what’s already known is needed.

You say we should focus on KXBM, BMRF, lies.jpg and the IRC clues. BMRF now redirects to the steam release announcement video which doesn’t seem ARG related, removing the link between the ARG and KXBM, I’m pretty sure the IRC channel has been deserted for years and the lies.jpg is one image on a page on an outdated wiki. How do you expect new players to even find all this?

I’ve been following this discussion for a long while, and been hesitant to say anything or dig into the mystery since I know little about encryption really(I’ve just really enjoyed the game and found this whole thing a good read), but I want to throw in my two cents about this all.

With the Steam release now here, why don’t we start over and retrek all the stuff before getting the HALOS file and try to see if there’s anything new in those parts. Didn’t Storm or someone mention something about there being ā€œpathsā€ in this ARG we could take? So wouldn’t it kinda make sense for us to start over and maybe find a different ā€œpathā€ possibly before re-reaching the HALOS file? Or have we ever thought maybe this whole thing is set up like a maze, as to where it has dead ends, and maybe this is one?

I’m willing to help look for clues and such, since it’s summer break for me and I have nothing to do, but have no idea where to start.

The obvious starting point would be the Pizza is a Lie graffiti, followed by the QE whiteboards. You can read through the first few pages of the thread to get an idea of how things went the first time around.

On a side note, I’m not sure if yhis has been brought up, but has anyone tried searching the MP maps for clues? I don’t know how much involvement Storm had in the currently released maps, but he did manage to get the graffiti all throughout the SP campaign. It couldn’t hurt to check (or double check).

Yet it is. Storm himself said it’s the umbrella site for this stage of the ARG.

But the websites themselves have undergone so many changes recently, how are new users supposed to catch up? It’d be great to know whether or not things like the KXBM radio, terminal.bmrf.us (which seems to be down) or any other parts of the ARG that have seemingly been removed still hold any significance.

If the website is truly still ARG relevant, then it might be hinting at something in a multiplayer map. After all, MP was the key feature of the Steam release, and kxbm and bmrf literally point to said release.

I’m to the point where I think Storm is waiting for us to say something key–perhaps he has a bomb to drop but only if we come up with that ā€œAHAā€ moment I have mentioned multiple times. Think about it–if he designed the HALOS file to be unbreakable without the most direct means possible (he was trying to prevent those Cambridge gents from breaking it, for God’s sake), then it’s likely that he’s got a piece of info we need that he will only reveal when we’ve done our due diligence. This is just my theory, but I stand by it.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
