[ARG] The Pizza Code Mystery

You really need to read my posts more often, I’ve linked and mentioned it several times since the original posts about it =P

Meh, guess I should start making my posts shorter.

Yeah, I just missed it–my own fault.

As for that “boats” Easter egg hint, could this have anything to do with it:

I haven’t seen them anywhere else in the game, and “cog” is another name for “boat/ship.”

This is at the top of the “On a Rail” rocket area, right before the next tram ride. There’s nowhere to take them down below, so I’m going to see if I can bring them along with me for the ride.

Any thoughts?
cogs.jpg

did you see that?

Some people are so dedicated, haha.

As for the cogs, I’ve gotten them all the way to Lambda. So far I haven’t found any use for them, but the fact I can take them this far still has me wondering if they are used for something later. They are just too perfect to not be used for something, and it’s really, really bothering me.

I guess that makes me one of those too-dedicated people, too.

The cogs ain’t the boats, friend.

The boats are the boats. They’re not cogs. They’re boats.

Haha, well thank you for telling me. I just got to the part with the frozen rooms and was debating how best to make two trips.

You saved me a boatload of trouble (pun shamelessly intended).

Don’t listen to him, he’s just trying to throw you off the trail.

Dammit Crypt. >_<

Edit:

Seeing as we’re looking around at the stuff in the Reddit thread again, aside from the boats stuff (which may be an easter egg, but is not confirmed as part of the ARG, right?), there’s one other thing that stood out to me. A few posts back I said this:

Yet, on Reddit, there’s this:

Clearly, we’re missing something about bmrf.us. He said this after the change of bmrf.us to the release video currently displayed. Maybe we need to find a sub-page on it, something similar to Stormseeker’s website (/thepizzaisalie/) or kxbm.net (the article page), or perhaps another sub-domain (like terminal.blackmesasource.com). Perhaps something with “congratulationsyouwonthePIZZA”?

P.S. I’m also pretty sure we haven’t yet found a use for this bit

That is just static, but it provides is with a username:“bmesaroot”

perhaps there is another terminal with a login mask but you can only login with the correct ip-address, username and password.

And how exactly is this known? I find the whole idea of Stormseeker sending clues via PM’s to a selected person ludicrous. In addition, his supposed messages raise all kinds of red flags, including bullshit analysis (weak encryption? nobody has been able to even tell the data from complete randomness), pasting binary as plaintext (??), talking about rainbow tables (major WTF here).
His name (which decodes to dr_horn) is most likely just a joke. He just contacted Gunsrequiem thinking he found something and then he disappeared. JohnNotJohn did a similar thing with the “I AM HALOS” hidden message, but he didn’t disappear and it was revealed to be a joke (but his posts were actually helpful).

Sending select people in the ARG messages is a gamble, but it’s happened before in other ARGs, such as the Portal 2 potato sack one. I should know. Who receive such messages is usually determined by picking one or multiple of the most active (or visible) players. [edit:] Point being, Gunsrequiem (with his blog) was probably one of the most visible people at the time and a logical choice. [/edit]

That said… I don’t know if there’s any proof, but there’s also no proof he was fake. If the messages were a joke and a red herring, we could’ve expected storm to pop in and reveal the guy as a fraud. As far as I can tell, that did not happen, so for now we simply do not know. And as such, like I said: even though there may have been (intentional) misinformation, there might be some truth hidden in there, which we should not discard outright.

Edit:

Heh. 17 users currently reading this thread. Are you all looking through the old posts, to see if storm left any hint regarding 0418’s validity, or what? xD

I found some possibly arg related stuff in questionable ethics and the first half of surface tension.

This was found on the panels on the incinerators right before the room with the scientist.

This was found in the laser test area in questionable ethics. It mentions Dr.Horn.

In the last map of questionable ethics there is another “The pizza is a LIE!” graffiti, but unlike the others, this one is really easy to get to without cheating.

In the first map of surface tension, i found another “the pizza is a lie!” graffiti and another bio dome logo.

And hers is some stuff from Dr.Horns shack in surface tension. some interesting stuff here.

Okay, something weird just happened. I don’t know if this related to the arg or not.
I was watching youtube when this video ad came up :

It was odd because it was only this image with no audio. If you click on this ad it takes you to to this website:
https://www.tickcounter.com/

I thought this was a bit odd because what would a site dedicated to timers have to do with this.

Interestingly, it was hosted by cloudflare, the same host that hosted BMRF.us and KXBM.net. Don’t know if this has anything to do with the arg, but it is definitely interesting to note.

No, not everything using the default test screen is ARG related, especially not random youtube ads. The BM team wouldn’t waste money on that, ever. Also, cloudflare is HUGE, and has about the same significance as the color blue.

I wasn’t expecting any significance to it, but it was quite odd.

Hey, maybe the pattern of boxes is important? Maybe if we match it to a grid, and use a box as a 1, and an empty space as a 0? We’ll get some kind of binary code, maybe it’ll lead us somewhere?

Uh, guys?

So… uh… https://localdesertsingles.com/ doesnt redirect to https://www.blackmesasource.com/
They just look the same…

I think this might mean something. Either that, or I’m being paranoid.

Yeah, we already knew that it doesn’t replace localdesertsingles.com with blackmesasource.com, but it’s the same page. Some other people and I looked for differences, but there was nothing.

I don’t know too much about cyphers, but the phrase “Tempus omnia revelant”(Time Reveals all), could be literally saying the time reveals all, where the cypher isn’t something related with a phrase said on the game but a time or date(or both).
and I don’t think is useful but I saw that on the nature: website when I seached about “Tempus Omnia Revelant”: https://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v521/n7550/full/521118a.html

“Time reveals all” just means that, when we eventually give up, the fact that there was no solution will be revealed

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
