Where are you getting the impression that it’s in two sections? There were two lines, dividing it into three sections.
Oh im not an expert. I just have a interest in cryptology and keep 99% of all my documents encoded. Cant be too safe these days and all this technology out there.
Who said I own real physical cypher machines? Theres a guy online that worked for the government that recreated digital programs that operates just like the real deal. If you want your own copy let me know I can find the link to his website and if its still up you can download your own.
Ah, I see. You seemingly explicitly said that you had one, not used an online version.
Edit: But if you have access, by all means, contribute! I don’t mean to dampen your spirit.
But its not online. I have it in my hard drive its a physical program that connection to the internet is not required to use. But I guess you could say its a online version since the guy posted it online. I just refer to it as a digital version, just sounds more correct to me.
But besides all that sorry for the confusion. I wouldnt fork out money for a real physical cypher machine. They are high priced and actually using them can cause damage to them due to their age.
Thing is though their a pain in the ass to use but boy do they crank out hard to crack cyphers. I am setting mine up currently to try and decode that wall of numbers a few pages back.
You can actually use it to crack a one-time pad cipher? I’m pretty sure that that’ll be difficult, since they’re supposedly almost impossible to solve without a key, but good luck.
Fixed that keyboard image so it’s /small/
Oh thank you, it was taking ages to load and slowing me down.
Well, when it’s a machine that operates like software, who’s to say what “having one” is…
Bon Ami… French, the international language… for “Good Friend”…
Dr, an abbreviation for Doctor…
Doctor Good Friend, sounds like Doctor Gordon Freman.
Gordon is the protagonist’s first name,
Fremen are from the Dune universe, they live in the desert of Arrakis, like the desert of New Mexico where the game takes place,
except on Dune there are sandworms, and in Black Mesa there are aliens,
Harkonnen sounds like HAZMAT,
Doctor … Gordon … Fremen
If The Following Is Intelligent … The Player (You) … Sandworms are the good guys
If the player is intelligent then they will realize that on Xen it shall be revealed there are friends
It’s getting late here and I’m getting too tired. I have, for instance, no idea what Comrade Tiki just said. So I may get off now and try to finish my english paper, see you guys later.
Who knows, the Wehrmacht during WWII used a 5 character in groups of 5 per line just like the numbers are. You have 5 numbers arranged in 5 groups per line. It will be hard cause if it is truely a Enigma based code I have to deside which three rotors to use between rotors I II III IV and V. Then I have to deside which rotor setting to use from 1 to 26. Then I have to deside which mirror to use, the Wehrmacht B or C mirror. Then I have to deside what starting rotor position to use was it A A A or B B B or maybe B M S. I am thinking of starting with basic Engima settings with rotor positions set to start at B M S and just type the message out and see what comes out.
I think you may be over analyzing this.
Heyo mates! I was playing the Blast Pit as you guys asked to search for something and i founded some numbers on the wall: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=97165104 I really don’t know anything yet, unless that hidden “The pizza is a lie” that’s on a pipe full of radioctive.
Ok, I only did one line to see what I got. With rotors I II and III set straight up with a starting position of B M S on the rotors. I converted numbers into letters (1 = A, 2 = B, etc) and I ended up with the following five letters in the first line of groups.
putting this in the cyper with setting # 1 out of 25 different combinations I got this.
I am inclined to say that combination #1 isnt it but I did end up with VOX which is said on all the computer equipment. So maybe I am on the right track or maybe this was just a fluke.
Hi! First off, welcome to the forums. Second, good job looking around. The numbers are probably nothing more than decoration, but I encourage you to look around by that other pipe you mentioned. I’d do it myself but I don’t have access to my gaming computer right now.
More pizza talk, another mention of ‘Biodome’, and stuff about CIPHERS!
On the whiteboard behind the G-Man in QE (Room A04 to be exact) next to another ‘The Pizza is a LIE’ message.
“Please use Cascade Ciphers only.” (some example I cant read)
Mention of a 1024 or 2048 bit key?
Edit: The same board is also in the offices later in that same section.
I can’t make out the red text beneath ‘code’! What does it say?!
Edit: It says what cipher to use. Yes!
Edit 2: I imagine that that’s what we’ll need to decode the final message. I bet that the code in four parts is the key to the huge block of numbers.
The text below says
"Please use cascade ciphers only (eg. some examples, can’t make them out) 1024 bit key or 2048
And I looked right at that board too!
Did you try zooming in?
Edit: Mouse, ‘biodome’ is the name of the QE lab; you can see the name on the maps there.
Gotcha, I had a feeling Biodome was something obvious that I just never paid attention to. lol
Also, after ‘1024 bit key’ it says “(esn)” which I believe stands for “Extended Sequence Number” – And is also beyond my knowledge of ciphers.
