So I get mention in the OP right? I mean, I did point you to that room, and some other stuff…
Is anyone else expecting the message to be some thing like: This is a tribute to all the pizzas that gave their lives so that this mod could be made.
I knew about the room a while ago, just didn’t inspect clearly enough until now:

If it is, I’m going to beat the shit out of Stormseeker.
Oh, darn. Well I’m sure that I did something…
^This.
Your time will come… one day.
Also, I don’t know if this has been mentioned before, but the arrows on the ‘wall-o-numbers’ make me think it could also be read vertically as opposed to horizontally, not that we’re anywhere near the point of that being useful yet.
if it was just two key sets they could be used in tandem to create the real key. But with four keys A B C and D the only way that could effectively work is if keys A and B combined create key AB and keys C and D combined create key CD. Then you take key AB + key CD and you get the cyper key used to decode the text. That would be a typical way of hiding the cypher key within the message. Thing is though I cant say that I have seen a cypher key being created through using four sub keys. Ive seen two sub keys used to create the main cypher key. Considering that I use two sub keys to create the key to decode my cyphers, I just think using four sub keys to create a typical two sub keys to decode what the cypher code is seems a little excessive.
I mean why take A B C D and combine them to make the cypher key that would decode the message. The only thing I can say is this is getting far away from what I call traditional cyphers and getting into something more exotic as I call it.
One thing I noticed is on the right it appears it says
I cant make out what it says after the (eg. part but it does appear to say 12f and then 1SP or 15P below that.
This was posted towards the start of the thread, but I’m pretty sure you can rule out the other “big secret” where the marine gets overtaken by the Snarks as part of the ARG. I’ll have a video up soon that shows you what it is. There may be more to it, but at the very least it’s not on the same map and seems to be a past reference to a glitch.
EDIT: Video won’t upload, so nevermind.
There’s a button in this room:
Press the console:
This IV Stand’s motion is enabled:
This IV stand has the crappiest physics. It appears they wanted to keep this in a bit as evidenced by this post: https://forums.blackmesasource.com/showpost.php?p=448030&postcount=2802
Video? Argh, just tell us now.
Edit: rusty, what I meant was that hopefully the four-part code will give us a four by four matrix that we can use to decode the huge blocks of numbers, maybe in tandem with something else. I mean, don’t one-time pad codes use a matrix? I don’t know much about this all this code stuff, of course, so I’m probably very wrong.
Its very possible. The thing that is throwing me for a loop is that I keep leaning towards this looking more like a Enigma style code with the five numbers arranged in five groups per line. But the more I think about it the more I am starting to think this is more exotic than traditional cyphers thats been used from the 30s on up through the 80
s. If that is the case well then this would be a little more complex than I am used to dealing with seeing as I typically deal with military style cyphers.
It is how ever very possible that the four keys are ment to decode one message per sector? That is a good possibility, but the thing that comes back to is that a cypher without knowing exactly what kind of cypher it is along with the key will be a hard nut to crack. I know that the hard way from trying to crack a cypher when I dont even know the code but I know what type of cypher it is.
All I hope is to see this cracked and see what its all about. My interest is grabbed now.
As I mentioned earlier, groups of five digits are very common throughout modern cryptology. Number stations, for instance, make use of them.
It’s unfortunately unlikely that it’s using the enigma code, though that would be pretty cool. I would encourage you to look for the numbers you need for the rotors and all that, though; you never know.
I keep expecting this to be used…
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nihilist_cipher
…simply on the basis that it sounds like “Nihilanth” lol
Could be what the string of numbers we have is? We’d need a key and keyword I believe though.
24/51/95/98/85/82/25/98/68/84/54/35/84/35/99/64/35/65/67/94/62
Yeah, that looks like it might match the series of two-digit numbers we got earlier. And it seems that all we need is a keyword with which to construct a polybius square! Hmm…
Edit: Try ‘pizza’.
Edit 2: I’m pretty sure I understand that code. I wish I had more time, because I bet that I might be able to solve it.
Yeah, looking at it some more, that type of cipher is very plausible. With this type, the lowest number you could have would be 22, and the highest 110. All these numbers are within that range. I also think Storm… err… Dr. Horn… created this so that it worked out that there were no zeros or numbers over 100. Being a shorter code helps make doing that easier.
No idea if relevent but the controls in the surgery room are spouting the lyrics to a song https://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107858640685/
Victor would like the extension “ia” => Victoria
Dr. Victoria Teunissen ???
There is no “bm_c2a4d.bsp”
That would make more sense… damn you bad handwriting + being so tiny! :fffuuu:
I dont know if these 2 things are related, but they both involve Dr. Horn.

Also, one of the announcements in Anomalous Materials requests Officer Siske’s presence at the Administration Center due to a Medical Emergency.
Siske was mentioned in one of Horn’s pizza notes and there is dead body in the Admin’s office later on. Granted this whole muderous Dr. Horn theory that I’ve cooked up does not directly relate to the ciphers, but it’s still a strange and interesting little alternate story.
