At one time I had enough of being shit at the game and when I got Bad Company 2 I left MW2 for a month or so. I’m back playing it now for some reason but I’m playing alot better.
Got bored with it most of the way through single player. I haven’t picked it up since. Spec. Ops. is not that fun, multiplayer is meh.
I actually quite enjoyed the Single Player. Mainly for the screams of RAMIREZ or ROOOOOOACCH. Yes I am easily amused I fully admit this.
As for the MP - I got bored after two weeks or so, mainly because I was bored of being hell-bent on killing any sod who was dumb enough to dual-weild Models. I ruined the game for myself, basically.
I got bored with MW2 within 2 weeks of buying it. BC2 is sooo much better.
Although I’m totally against game piracy, I wish I had pirated that piece of crap money grab game called mw2. I don’t know how they could of screwed up from the brilliance of mw1 but they did. It as if they took in all the retards from the cod3 and treyarch teams. I sometimes feel like doing what you do in that airport, but instead at the infinity ward and activision office. Fans of mw2 and Dane Cook are probably the most douche-baggish. I fucking hate Dane Cook!
Once I got to level 70 (I am still scratching my head as to why I wasted my life doing that) I only played private matches

Hah, people make me laugh. Stupid Cod peeps who said IT WAS GONNA BE OWNAGE DERF. And in my opinion, I liked the singleplayer. I never played the multiplayer because I don’t have it. Man, for all you hypocrit MW2 peeps who now say battlefield is now the best. You should just shutup for being so ignorant and go play MW2 again. I’m not saying the new Battlefield is bad, in fact…I’m not judging it, it just pisses me off that they said MW2 was gonna’ be their game forever and now they say BF is their game.

I never played it, but I got sick of COD4 very quickly.
That would be a reason so many people like it.
I’ve never said it was bad, only that it wasn’t brilliant like so many fanboys make it out to be.
I enjoyed the SP quite a bit. I liked how the hardest difficulty wasn’t ridiculous grenade spam like the previous titles. As for MP… well… I think if they took the time to fix any of the thirty or so glitches instead of milking the community and their employees for cash then maybe it would be fun. This is also why I’m boycotting Gears 3. They STILL haven’t fixed anything in Gears 2…
Got bored of it a while ago, got SUPER bored of it when BF:BC2 released.

Did it ever cross your mind that maybe MW2 is actually incredibly standard and samey. It’s the beginning of a stencil cut series that will hardly change if Activision get their way.
I did enjoy the SP a little bit, but I ended up getting bored and not finishing it. Then I moved online and I did have a lot of fun at first. It was rather addictive and very easy to slip in to because of the similarities to CoD4. It’s pretty much the same MP with added weapons and some new perks, some of which were kinda cool (AC-130) and some of which were not (Nuke).
After a while I just stopped playing, it was just getting boring. It wasn’t herd mentality, I was bored with the game. This was also BEFORE BFBC2 came out.
When it did, hoo damn! I haven’t been this addicted to a game for 2 or 3 years. Things like 32 player servers (versus MW2’s 18 max) on gigantic maps, full of tanks and choppers and destructible environments make the game so epic and amazing. MW2 on the other hand is just a bunch of people running around double shotguning people while jumping (seriously, what were they thinking when they added akimbo shotguns?!?!).
I’ve played over 24 hours of BFBC2 MP since it came out, and it came out a month ago. Given that I didn’t play every night that’s well over 2-3 hours per session. In that same period I sunk 15 hours in to Just Cause 2. I just love these two games. It’s nothing to do with herd mentality, I just fucking love this shit.
BFBC2 also got a lot of my mates back in to gaming. A few of them are in their mid 20s and played MW2 for a couple of weeks but then got bored too. They’ve been playing BFBC2 almost non-stop since it came out. This is a big change. BFBC2 is a hugely successful game that is leaving a massive footprint in the online FPS scene. If you look at the stats:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Multiplayer - 27,314 current players
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Multiplayer - 45,266 Players online
On top of that Bad Company 2 has a grand total of 1,084,438 PC players so far, and this is a month after release!
