I just got the crossbow and am almost out of the ichthyosaur area I believe. However there’s a sparking wire going off on the only gap in the steel fence I can find. I just can’t seem to figure out a way past it or how to turn it off. Any help would be appreciated.
I’m stuck here too…
The yellow tram just crashed in a watery pit. I see there’s a cage I can add buoyant barrels under to seemingly raise a bridge. I’ve added as many as I can find, but I still can’t jump the gap between the broken “bridge” and the exit.
Any ideas?
I added as many barrels as i possibly could, then stacked two boxes on top of one another, climbed the boxes and sprint jumped to the other side.
A little unorthodox but it worked.
Yeah, am stuck there, too.
yes you find more barrels in the neighbouring rooms. Just swim around and fetch more. The whole assembly should visibly rise to the level so that you can cross the gap.
The only thing that made me stuck for a bit was finding enough barrels. I didn’t know where to look at first but figured it out eventually.
me too lol
edit: I’ve found a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-F_tfZWwQ_M&feature=plcp
It’s at the 5 minute mark.
He juist jumps through the wire and loses a couple of hit points. Unfortunately that is imposible for me as I only have 10 hp left. Any other solution would be appreciated.
edit2: I went back to the professor in the previous section who had some health and energy computers. I got up to 60/60. And jumped through the wire and was down to 20/0. I cant believe losing life like that is normal but I will continue nontheless.
edit3: according to the old half-life 1 walkthrough you can jump through the broken grates on the right… seemes so small in black mesa.

Hi,
well, I´m having tons of fun with this game, buuut now I´ve reached a point where I have no idea what to do next. See the two screenshots below:
I assume I have to raise the ramp/bridge by putting enough barrels underneath. But I cannot find more of them. Is the jump possible already, or where could I have overlooked one of those orange barrels?
Thanks a lot!
Yes, adding more barrels is the right approach. I think I added 3 (maybe 4) before it lifted. I don’t remember exactly where I found them. Just look around.
Sprint and jump+crouch.
Ok, made it. That´s a seriously difficult jump, though. Not used to stuff like this these days
Thanks anyway!
I did it my own way, simply took a one red barrel and jumped on it
Can anyone help ive done the mission with the rocket thats gone into space im stuck on the part where you drive the bigger train cart with the km/h display on it ive done this several ways now. i’ve crashed through the door and landed in the water and tried to get back upto the top, ive tried crashing and finding my way around underwater. I’ve also jumped off the train cart before it crashed and killed the marines then had a look round and i still can’t find where to go. So can anyone help its been years since i played original Half-Life so i can’t remeber where you go now.
Thanks
Looks like a bug. There are 5 barrels but they are not enough to lift the platform.
There are more than five barrels. Look around for them. Do some diving.
I’ve been searching for more than 30 minutes. Unless there’s a secret room I’m not seeing there’s no sixth barrel.
It took me a little while, but there are enough barrels. I think there are only 3 you need to find.
Answers below:
1 - in the pool with the pathway you need to ‘float’
2 - in the nearby flooded room with the staircase
3 - in front of the collapsed corridor, through the previous room
Any luck? I also am at a standstill at this point. I was able to activate a generator or something but the lack of direction is aggravating.
If I’m thinking about the right spot, there should be yellow barrels floating around in the water. Pick them up and push them into the underwater-cage. When you’ve added 3-4 floating things, the crushed walkway should lift up a bit. You can then jumpcrouch across to the door.
I heard someone else just putting a crate/barrel inbetween and jumping on it instead - apparently worked as well.
jump through the hole in the iron bars thats been melted… its small but not small enough
