Another Doom movie? This cannot be.

By that, do you mean how they “translated” demonic creatures spawned by a portal to hell to, mutants created by some artefact?

No, he wasn’t just talking about Doom, he was talking about video game movies as a whole.

I’ve always known the BFG as “Big Force Gun”.

Dwayne Johnson should have been the Doom 3 guy, he looks just like him

Tom Hall stated in the Doom bible that BFG stood for Big Fucking Gun, but your assumption was a pretty good one.

This is all such a coincidence to be completely honest i installed Doom 3 right before this post started and dear god i swear this is still one of the best games i own. It is long as hell and its action packed and it still scares the hell out of me even though i have played it and beaten it probably about 4 or 5 times. The expansion pack is awesome too, i wish Doom 4 would hurry up and come out :’(

Man, I know exactly how I want the movie to pan out. Probably have the whole damn movie sitting there in my head. Shoulda jumped first.

Synopsis, now.

(not really synopsis)

Team gets sent to rescue mission on mars, looking for some security guards that sent out a distress beacon. The squad is extra stereotypical to the point of hilarity. There’s the exception of one small reserved helmeted dude whose pushed around by em. The moment they teleport on to mars, they see some security guards already. They don’t seem bothered at all, but ofc there’s blood everywhere. Main sergeant douchebag asks one of the guards if they sent the beacon, and that guard immediately turns and fires on the squad. All the (now revealed to be) zombie guards follow the leader, blowing away everyone in the squad except the little guy. The lights go out, the firing stops. Lights come back on, classic green-shirted doomguy has his left finger on the light switch with his right hand clutching a smoking double barrel shotgun. All the zombies are dead.

The rest of the movie follows doomguy and sidekick as they try to survive. Maybe a few jump scares and fan service easter eggs sprinkled in. Main point is that doomguy doesn’t ever reveal his plan (which is to shut down all access points back to earth) and the little dude doesn’t know this. He’s just following the guy who knows what he’s doing. When he finds out he’s running around with the man who has a plan that would fuck his live over… shit gets interesting. When I say that I mean I haven’t thought about what happens. All I have is that they end up in hell, doomguy ends up dieing, and littleman changes his mind and finishes DG’s plan. Some main boss mofo like spidermastermind or cyberdemon got wise to the plan and started rushing for teleporters, resulting in their death by the hand of the protagonist. Littleman stays behind in hell making sure all portals are destroyed and no demon gets through… Doom 64 style.

It’s disjointed because I never put THAT much thought into it. I feel like it would never get made so why bother?
I imagine this would have a Paul Verhoeven/ Sam Raimi kinda vibe.

It’s pretty dumb. Can’t imagine whatever Universal pulls out their ass being any better though.

Also, if the BFG appears, it would have a scientific name AND someone calls it a big fucking gun. This scientific name will not, however, be as stupid as “bio force gun”. Something like “beta field generator” and shit like that.

Now I kinda want to get my shit together and try to start this somehow… but I have so much lack of money :frowning:

I would watch that movie. Even pay to watch that movie.

uwe boll.

its gona suck.

i fucking hate that guy

But the thing is, because they changed what they changed the coolest demons couldn’t have ever showed up. I’d love to have seen a lost soul here and a revenant there. Maybe could even see an Imp throw a proper fireball.

But yeah, the effects were fucking great and the suits were amazing works of art. That’s one of the film’s few redeeming qualities imo. They got the CG/ practical balance just right. Doug Jones and Brian Steele are awesome performers too. It’s a thankless job in the end, being the monster actor, but they really sell it.

Plus my frustration about the story is that it builds up to the hell portal route, and then goes Resident Evil out of nowhere. It’s like the scriptwriter was stopped half way by a suit sayin “No way, that will offend the shit outa the zealots out there who will see this film”… The story wasn’t changed for the sake of being different or fresh, it was just censorship. Censorship in it’s worst form. The worst part is that there are so many eastereggs and throwbacks in the script, that you know the writer was doing his best in the ridiculous restrictions he had. The guy WAS familiar with the source material, he just wasn’t allowed to use it. That’s the shit that makes me sick.

Oh yeah, the musical score was nothing short of fucking incredible. Seriously, no one could have done a better job than Clint Mansell.

Has it been said that Uwe Boll is directing? Because he had nothing to do with the first one.

Doom movie. Y u no Plasma gun?

I’d have done it >.>

No you don’t.
You’re just another gamer piece of shit that heard “Uwe Boll stinks” and decided to roll with it, despite never sitting down to watch any of his work without that predisposition drilled into your skull.

If you’ve seen Rampage, you’d know he’s probably the best person available to do a take on Doom. God knows Ridley Scott wouldn’t do it.

Rampage is the only one of his movies that I’ve seen and I thought it was pretty good. Not amazing but not horrible.

Man, Uwe really stepped in shit huh? Although Bloodrayne is fucking unforgivable, it still launched Kristanna Loken into…um. Total Obscurity, Final Answer!

I admit I liked Postal :O(

It was just so damn Postal…

A little presumptuous dont you think? Ive seen his shit movies. Bloodrayne, In the name of the King, Alone in the Dark too name a few. I havent seen Rampage and ill check it out.

Im actually not sure if he has anything to do with Doom i wrote that shit before bed, must have read it some where.
