"Andrew Reiner hinting towards Half Life 3?" by Spiah

This what I found lately at steam forums:

[i]Andrew Reiner, executive editor of Game Informer is hinting towards big news for their February Issue cover reveal. He claims that there will be 5 game reveals in the issue, one being the cover story.

“The most popular cover guesses are TES: V, Mass Effect 3, and Half-Life 3.”
One Twitter user, LeonSmrgshboard asks Andrew whether or not the big reveal has been previously announced. Andrew tells him that “It is a secret I have been keeping since 2009.” Both TES: V and Mass Effect 3 were announced at the VGAs last night! And while I may be alone in this thinking, 2009 seems just around the right time-frame for HL3’s development.

While Browsing Andrew’s twitter I have come across some quite intriguing notes:

-Big news coming on https://www.gameinformer.com tomorrow.

-@MrTissueBox We have 5 huge reveals in the next issue. You’ll find out what they are soon!

-@LeonSmrgshboard I’ve been keeping this secret since 2009. And you’ll find out our cover soon enough.

Whether or not this is Half Life 3, I do find it interesting that Andrew mentioned it as a popular possibility. Plus, with 5 games being revealed, could this be our moment?

This is not mine, was posted by Spiah.

Does this guy work at Valve?
No? Then why should anybody care?
And if anything, this clod probably means EP3.

Welp, I think we all know these kind of rumors tend to be true.

So yeah, HL3 is being announced in February.

Followed by another Portal 2 delay in conjunction with announcement of the Purple Box, which includes Portal, Portal 2, and HL3. Sadly, this will be delayed again, and shortly after, the Turquoise Box will be announced - with the inclusion of the 3rd valve secret, Ricochet 2! Eventually, the Purple Box will cease to exist for marketing reasons (everybody wants Ricochet 2 after all) and the Turquoise Box will release in Fall 2012.

The Transparent Box. HL3, Portal 2, L4D3 and special L4D4 pre-order key.

Valve kind of sucks until Half-Life 3 is released.

ignore this post

Spiah is clearly a dumbass seeing as HL2Ep3 will be released before HL3. Hl2Ep3 is a possibility, but I doubt it seeing as Dota2 is already planned and they wouldn’t have Ep3 steal all it’s limelight.

How can you be sure there will even be a Half-Life 3? So much time has passed that Valve might just say “F*ck it, we’re making a full game in another 3 years”.

… EPISODE 3, NO HALF-LIFE 3.

So it was ES:V then

That’s 1 of 5.

The guy from GameInformer is saying they’re going to reveal 5 games in their next magazine, and 1 will be featured on the cover. He then says that people have been guessing what the cover game will be. It’s not a “popular possibility”, it’s a popular guess. Meaning it means nothing. Either people are idiots or he meant they’ve been guessing Episode 3 will be the cover reveal.

I’ve heard grumblings that one of the reveals is Doom 4…which everyone already knows is in deep development, so that would be kind of lame. But that’s just what I heard through the proverbial grapevine, it’s probably bullshit.

Edit: “@Spidey474 It’s up now. Skyrim is our next cover story. First look at the game.”

Well, that answers that. It’s hard to imagine an ES game trumping a HL game for the cover, so I’d guess HL3 is NOT going to be announced.

It’s probably that TES is more in the public eye than Half-Life, if anything.

I would be dumbfounded if Gamepro gave an already announced Elder Scrolls game the cover story over a totally unannounced full-length Half Life game, but the times are-a changin’, I guess.

also the fact that the Half-Life franchise isn’t that big with most gamers.
Just take a look at CoD, Halo, and other big console titles.
I have several friends who play games but they don’t play much Valve games. they do know about Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 though (the latter probably because they keep talking about it and releasing new content, or… hats).

I just think Valve would do good by changing their focus and coming up with new IP. But the Half-Life franchise does deserve a closure with Episode Three.

No, this is definitively the proof that BMS is right around the corner!!!

what is this bms you speak of

is it anything like pms
