Alien Swarm: New Free Game from Valve

Eh…2.3 kb/s - 0% for 5 minutes on a 20MB Broadband connection. :expressionless:

…I downloaded it 30mins ago and just finished the first level of the campaign :expressionless:

Lucky I guess?

Big time, my downloader has an estimated time on 7 hours now. :fffuuu:

Edit: And now of course the freaking servers are too busy to handle my request…

I finally got mine downloading, since evryone else is doin’ it: I’m at 1,051 KB/S right now.

If the servers aren’t too busy. I can’t even get a download started. Forget this, I’m going to play some Natural Selection.

won’t start…Too frikking busy so I’m listening to Back to the future soundtrack instead…Win.

This is actually pretty fun

Downloaded it in about 10 minutes at ± 1-4MB/s (fluctuation ftl). Game itself is rather fun, but I can see how it could easily be trolled by someone taking the Tech slot and then doing fuck all.

I did have a fuckton of Error-models showing though, will look into that tomorrow.

CANNOT DOWNLOAD! DX
Been trying since the minute it was released.
“The steam servers are currently too busy. Please try again in a few minutes”
Waits a few minutes and tries again

AGHH! What’s worse is that six steam friends already have it! WTF are they doing right?!

Protip: when it tells you to wait a few minutes, don’t.

just switch over to another server.
I switched to a belgian server and it was much faster.

Downloaded. Played for 3 minutes. Deleted. I guess birds-eye-view games, and co-op games are not for me :’( I honestly don’t understand the hype behind co-op gaming.

you don’t have friends?

None who play games.

I’ve been downloading since 2 pm and now it’s 6. My internet sucks.

I’m downloading now. I actually found out that it was free when I was on Tom’s Hardware. Before then I had only seen the trailer.

I’m at %50 after about 8 minutes. :3

LOL this game currently has double the amount of CS’s simultaneous players in the Steam stats

Peak is a lot lower though

The little I’ve played of it has been pretty fun, and I have yet to play multiplayer. Nice little game.

You do realize that’s exactly why you don’t understand the hype behind coop gaming?

Same happened to me when I first downloaded it. It updated after I quit out of it and everything was straightened out.

I wasn’t really looking forward to it, but it’s actually very fun, imo.
