He was fuckin’ god in Lord of War.
OMFG How did I forget Lord of War? That film was amazing.
I didn’t like Face/Off, but not because of Nic Cage. Can’t stand John Travolta…in everything he’s in.
Even Hair Spray? I thought he was fucking hilarious in that.
Not a film, but Charlie Sheen pretty much made Two And A Half Men what it is.
I liked Travolta in Get Shorty and Basic. Granted, most of his other movies are shit, but I like those two.
He sure did. And what it is is a piece of shit.
The side characters are better than Charlie Sheen in that.
Charlie Sheen did, however, support The Arrival.
Tom Cruise was awesome in Tropic Thunder, and I usually don’t like him.
I thought Cruise did a good job in Minority Report. Great PKD adaptation, by the way.
As for Travolta, he was great in “Pulp Fiction.” Plus, the people that hate him get to see him take a suppressed Mac 10 mag to the face walking out of the john.
Speaking of Pulp Fiction, Samuel L. Jackson can make any movie good or enjoyable, even ones that include snakes on planes.
Mickey Rourke in Spin City
I almost forgot: Matthew Broderick’s presence in the new Producers film made the flick almost intolerable. He hasn’t had a good role since Ferris Bueller.
What about “Glory” or “Election?”
Glory was great.
Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over a Cuckoo’s Nest
Sam Riley in Control
For Nicholson, he made “The Departed” enjoyable and “Chinatown” a classic.
To me, Nicholson is the only one that could play the Joker…or Cesar Romero.
Billy Bob Thornton made Slingblade what it was. It’s almost hard to believe that’s him playing Carl.
I will say the same thing for Steve Martin in My Blue Heaven. It’s over the top, and should be unbelievable, but somehow Martin disappears in that one and makes it work.
