Achievement ideas

(hope the link works)

If you look at the very end of satchel fx whoever is playing goes to the menu at he end were one of the options is achivements. devs: is this proof of achivements in BM, a mistake, or something from the EP2 menu or something like that.

ps- sorry if this has already come up, but I’ve never seen a thread on this exact topic(although there was one pre-crash in the suggestion box asking people to post ideas for achivements(which I may rebuild)) and the FAQ says nothing about achivements.

pps- I am aware this is alpha material, but I think it’s worth asking anyways.

They’ve already said that they will have achievements. Please do try to keep up.

sorry. I’ve never been good at keeping up with stuff.

Rather than destroy this thread, we can speculate about and request certain kinds of achievements. As in crowbar kills vs. carry a gnome across the whole level. What do you guys (community) want in an achievement?

I personally loved the Little Rocket Man achievement. I would like to see something like that. In a serious game such as this and HL2, unserious achievements seem to work well.

I don’t recall any developer saying there will be achievements. I wonder what they will be like, though.

Ram once posted a screenshot of the menu to show us there would be achievements. Makes quite a while tho but I’m pretty sure it was after the crash.

Maybe this screenshot?

I found it here, it was posted by Raminator some time after the crash.

Oh god no. This was done to death before the crash; if I recall, every topic like this that sprung up ended up locked.

^This.
You know guys, you can always post freely and discuss shit in “Unofficial official chat thread” if you want to. If you want to rack up your post counts, however, too fucking bad.

Actually no. One was left open for ages just to let people get it out of their system without making new threads for it, but the devs were never going to take anything from it. Why would they give up the fun of making them up themselves? Not to mention 99% of the suggestions were appalling bad.

Yup yup.

title says all
Now I did perfrom a search for this one. found nothing exept my “probable proof of BM achivements” thread which many of you may have seen. carrying on from that and an interesting thread from before the crash, this thread is to post suggestions for achivements. sorry to the devs if you have already finished them and if you wanted that old thread closed, but I dont know what happened to it so please forgive me.

anyways, my ideas, in no particular order:

Bullfighter -defeat the gonarch without it successfully charging you
stargate -travel to xen
please do not feed the animals -kill a barnacle with a satchel you have fed it
teamwork -kill an enemy with help from a security guard
stealth -defeat the tentacles without them hearing you
“Wisely done” -complete half-life by accepting the G-man’s offer
“no regrets” -complete half-life by declining the G-man’s offer
mercy killing -kill a dicected living alien in Questionable ethics
clumsiness costs lives -kill a black ops assassin with a tripmine
Butcher, stage 1 -kill 100 headcrabs with the crowbar
Butcher, stage 2 -kill 500 headcrabs witth the crowbar
Butcher, stage 3 -kill 1000 headcrabs with the crowbar
Vandal, stage 1 -destroy a sentry gun set up by the military using an explosive
vandal, stage 2 -destroy a sentry gun set up by the military using the shotgun/MP5
vandal, stage 3 -destroy a sentry gun set up by the military using the glock

that’s it so far.

Michael jackson - Crowbar nihilints crotch.

many lols

seriously though I want ideas

Better Not Let it Go To Waste -50g
Escape Black Mesa with the remains of Magnusson’s casserole

Kick the Asshat - Kill the Nihilanth

lol…

You’d have to make sure to keep it in a hidden pocket for when you get captured… or more like… dumped somewhere that could be dangerous without any supervision to make sure escape is possible, and leaving a crowbar near just in case.

Except for the fact that there’s no gamerscore on Steam.

Don’t let it go to Waste- Escape Black Mesa with Magnusson’s casserole
