About Kleiner's Injury...

because I’d totally be afraid to move someone with a twisted ankle. y’know in case thier foot falls off or something.

twisting != shattering

A twisted ankle is torn or partly torn ankle ligaments. Where are you getting this shattered bone from?

EDIT - I totally agree that a shattered ankle might make it a risky thing to move someone. But then there’d likely be visible sign of injury.

We don’t know what is wrong with him though. That’s what we’re here arguing, except there is no answer. So really this whole argument is nonsense.

They know it was certain doom? They just thought they were trapped and couldn’t communicate with the surface and Eli didn’t want to leave his friend.

Kleiner: “Can you get one of these things for study after I get better?”
Eli: “Are you kidding? We need to get out of here.”
Kleiner: “It might be the only chance we have to study these things away from the border world.”
Eli: “…all right.”

Your attempt at derision was humorous to me, though. We all don’t know what happened after Gordon went on to other parts of the facility so my hypothetical is just as fucking ridiculous as yours (that it’s definitely NOT that).

I just thought it would be interesting if one of the two headcrabs was Lamarr. We also don’t know the natural life expectancy of headcrabs. They could be extremely long lived in comparison to Earth fauna. We just don’t know.

I wonder how old Big Mama is…

I don’t know, but if I was down in a research facility in the middle of the desert, and there was a huge shockwave followed by communications going down, computers exploding, people I’ve spoken to 10 minutes ago laying in pools of blood, and aliens teleporting in, I’d assume I was about to face certain doom as well.

And that’s before the Military arrives to silence everyone.

Y’know, I’ve always thought Half-Life had a great atmosphere and when hell broke loose I thought “holy shit”…but when you put it like that, and you’re not the badass scientist with the hazard suit, I’d be so scared I was shittin bricks. Pretty scary…

I always get to these topics too late to give my opinion on a post without saying “I know it’s late” or something but I know it’s late but I have two words that can confirm that… “Gordon Freeman”…

So are you saying that gman put Lamarr in stasis with Gordon?
Or is it your opinion, that because humans can live more that 20 years, headcrabs can too?

if it was lamarr we would have seen a pet gonarch in hl2 :stuck_out_tongue:

True. True.

I’ve never been happy with the fact that Headcrabs grow into Gonarchs.

i always wondered why there isn’t something between headcrab and gonarch. Valve needs to explain more…

and do fast gonarchs or poison gonarchs exist? Or they can’t grow because of the combine modification?

Surely there’s a step between the two but we really need to know how the ball sack appears (aka the Fong theory) ?

Non normal headcrabs are made by the combine, no such Gonarch exist.

I never want to see a Gonarch again, it’s just biologically impossible.

/sarcasm.

LOOK FOR IT. :hmph:

One question, I am not trying to stir up the hive, just interested:

Where did Laidlaw state that Kleiner is the scientist that Eli is afraid to move? Is there any available source?

EDIT2:
Yes I did use the seach function. Here, in the Laidlaw vaults and on google.

Rofl.

He has stated that “In retrospect, the scientist next to Eli should have been Kleiner”
(Not the exact wording, and I don’t have a source, but he did say that)
Basically he retconned it, making the model they used in HL wrong.

I am looking for that source for ages now.
All I found is the mentioning that Eli is the one who is afraid to move the injured scientist.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
