A revolutionizing breakthrough......

I was just thinking about the mod and something came up in my mind:
This mod will be special and unique in terms of creation, detail and length, and will mostly surpass any other existing mod.
Ive never heard of another mod that huge like this one, and with huge i mean:

  • the team worked over 5 years on this one
  • Looking at the original Half Life, this mod has a very long play-time as well
  • the love, detail and dedication for this mod is stunning
  • everything is professionally done, from voice acting to level design…

I dont remember any other mod you can compare to Black mesa, so this will be definitely a breakthrough in the modding scene!

No shit, Captain Obvious.

Can you feel the love?

I am pretty sure this will be the biggest mod released for any game ever.

Player numbers will probably surpass that of many A+ game titles.

Credit to the Devs.

What’s your point?

this isn’t exactly late or anything/sarcasm

Yes, this game shall surpass Adam Foster’s mods such as Minerva and Someplace Else. I highly doubt that there will be a HL2/E1/E2 mod that will be better than Black Mesa. Black Mesa kicks ass and takes names.

not to mention make those look like dog doody

I knew that before I joined the forums.

Nah, it’s gonna suck, actually.

There’s plenty worse people on the internet. You’re just upset that you don’t have to be friendly on the internet. That’s why people use it, to be dicks where nobody will care.

The caption in the picture is incorrect. It’s “Current TOPSIDE temperature”. :meh:

Have you seen the steam powered forums? We can’t be that bad.

I said that before, he doesn’t care.

What? The overwhelming majority of the devs never post here, don’t even have accounts here, and probably rarely if ever read anything posted here. I won’t deny this community is full of arseholes, but I’m a bit nonplussed at how that can be laid at the feet of the devs.

Having said that, I find it ironic you complaining about the dicks in this community when that post firmly establishes you as one of them. I’ve yet to see anyone anywhere who’s even remotely worth the slightest amount of anyone’s time who trots out the old clichéd ‘please go ahead and ban me, see if I care!!1!one’ nonsense.

Well I, for one, love the forums in spite of the amount of rudeness. Every other forum I’ve been to was soooo boring, or just too fucking retarded even for me!

Bungie Forums: This is obvious. Too much “omg fix br can i haz reconz lol fagzzz!!!one!!one!!” Plus, my account name was dreadful (I was a complete noob when I registered.)
GTAGaming: Bitching about how much of a disappointment GTA4 was, and some shit about fingerless gloves. Pass.
3DRealms: Ever watched a starving man wait for someone that promised to give him food, and whenever the man stops by, the starving man ask "Is it still coming?” to which the man with the food replies “It’ll be here when it’s done”?

I’ve been a member of the Black Mesa Forums for almost as year, and there’s rarely been a dull moment! Everyone has a personality, rather than just a collection of soulless fat basement dwellers wasting their life away in front of the monitor. It’s like an uncensored television sitcom! I mean, what other forum community can inspire their own comic?

Except for the other forum references, I actually agree with everything that JohnKiller118 just said.

I love the fact that there are assholes here, they make me laugh when they pwn all the cockroaches who don’t read the FAQ.

Johnkiller118: … I wouldn’t go so far as to call this community a pain in the ass but they’re definitely retarded. But, they got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Imonfire: Ah, so by that rationale, if the 3D Realms boards had a better personality, he would cease to be a pain in the ass. Is that true?

Johnkiller118: Well we’d have to be talkin’ about one charming motherfuckin’ board. I mean they’d have to be ten times more charmin’ than that Arnold on Green Acres, you know what I’m sayin’?

No, I don’t know what your “sayin.”

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
