Of course they did. I was just saying i wasn’t sure if they directly made it or not.
Really? I don’t mean to doubt your truthfulness, but I find that hard to believe… I guess some people slur things and it could sound similar, but idk.
Yeah. OUTSIDE the map. Just like there’s a buried room in one of the CS:S maps with a shoe sitting in the middle. I really don’t find that conclusive.
The Gman has blood in gmod as well, doesn’t mean anything; correct me if I’m wrong, its just the way the npc is set up.
Holes? pics or its a lie. I have never seen the gman filled with “holes”. From my experience bullets just bounces, like he’s made of metal. True, Valve wouldnt want you to be able to kill him, but the in the case of the other NPC’s the bullets just go right through; for the gman, they actually bounce.
What?
That sentance is an oxymoron. You just doubletalked yourself to hell.
As sudpuzzer said, the model name is gman.mdl. Probably due to his uncanny resemblance to the conspirist’s idea of governments agents running around kidnapping aliens.
The community caught onto the name, and it stuck.
I bet he was inspired by the cigarette smoking man from The X-Files.
[COLOR=‘red’]Sorry about that. What you said above is what I meant. Without all the extra stuff.
G-Man isprobably a manager or a slaver. When he sees someone, something with talent. He captures the person and then he makes offers to factions (remember what breen said in his office or remember the g-man speeches) who need an assasain or a soldier.
The whole Black Mesa incident and the invasion of Earth could be test for Gordon to prove himself. but no it’s probably G-Man’s employers . They want Combine to invade Earth so they can send someone else later to Damage the Combine. (Maybe G-Man is working for the Combine and Combine is testing Human Combine. This is just a test. Whoa!)
G-Man still may be a good guy. Maybe he tried to save Eli by warning him about the advisor attack. unforeseen consequences
Op4 isn’t canon
valve was involved in the making of the game. They put it into their story. Therefore, it can be included.
Look at mankymans post.
you remind me of my dad
Why!?
You have an annoyingly large number of arguments that seem great, and i am unable to respond to, but in the end the arguments are bad.
Valve is notorious for being intentionally vague about canonicity. I could go on for a while about things Marc Laidlaw has said in that regard, but what it basically comes down to is this: Op4 and BS were created by Gearbox, with permission from Valve. Thus, Valve has the right to reuse or contradict elements from their games.
So yes, the Gearbox expansions can be considered canon, but if there are ever any conflicts between them and Valve’s games, Valve’s side is the correct one.
Google “Marc Laidlaw Vault” if you want to read up on Marc’s answers to fan questions like this.
Hahaha that’s exactly like my dad too
By the way, I can see that 0_22one has, at this time, made 69 posts.
lol
edit: aw ninja’d
Ok. How are they bad? Like, why do they seem great, then end up bad?
I don’t really know the arguments just doesn’t sound good, i dunno
Maybe I am just missin something. Like a word, or some form of evidence. Oh well. I’m sure someone will tell me, eventually. That is what always happens. Then I fix it.
You are aware that Gearbox Software took an incredible amount of liberties with the game, right?
And Opposing Force isn’t taken into consideration when Mark Laidlaw plots out the hl story. If it fits with what he’s doing then that’s great, but it ultimately doesn’t matter.
If I remember right, basically what Laidlaw said was that the concept of canon for HL was invented by the fans, and that elements from Gearbox become ‘official’ when they’re confirmed in later games.
Ok. So we are all right, in our own way
Orpheon basically added it all together in one, easy to undersand post.
Op4 can be taken however the player wants. Add it in if you want, or leave it out.
I am really starting to like this discussion
How do you know it? Maybe he isn’t neither good or bad, just neutral, following orders. But I wouldn’t doubt that he would let gordan die when he becomes useless to him, Just like darth vader and the emperor from star wars: Gordon is his right hand but if he finds some1 more powerful, he will use him instead of gordan
I agree.
