A possible reason for the Steam fiasco

I never said I wasn’t good at TF2. Maybe not great, but I can hold my own.

Team Fortress 2 just steals little things from other games, like the image above.

Seriously, what the fuck is that? Deus Ex in my Team Fortress 2?

Weapons that require long-time gaming just to attain. What happened to people who have lives to attend to? I can’t just sit there all day and do that item-trade shit.

And the fucking hates and cosmetic changes just add to the messy nonsense.

I get on server and see shit like this in chat;
Player1: Anyone wanna trade 2 flares for a refined?
Player2: SELLING CLOAK AND DAGGER FOR 1 CLASS TOKEN
Player3: how do i turn metal into refined…
etc,etc.

Not to mention all the 8 year olds playing as a result of the game being free. Which ultimately leads to hearing the bullshit above on the mic, too.

The game is a fucking sloppy mess and I hate it.

Then don’t play it.

Either that or play the console versions. All the core elements are there, without all the BS that has become a part of the game. I understand that I’m reiterating my point, but it needs to be said if someone is going to complain about the game in its current state.

last time i played tf2 was a wile ago, i got into game and was like yay im having fun. then constantly, i mean the guy wouldnt fucking stop. trying to trade shit with me for some key thing i had. in the ned i just told him to fuck off cause i wanted to play the game.

but i see how you guys are complaining about mess. theres so much shit going on i dont even get it.

i just want to play the game and try get a kill. try.

Terrible suggestion, really.

It’s better than not playing TF2 at all. It may not be the optimal version, but if the in-game trade bugs someone enough not to play the PC version, they are then left with two choices. To not play a fundamentally great game by stopping altogether, or still experience it, albeit in a lesser form.

Valve should totally put Vanilla TF2 on Steam.

I really like TF2, but its just so complicated with the hats and items and shit that I just play Nuclear Dawn instead. (Since I haven’t played TF2 in about a year going back on would be…terrifying.)

I wouldn’t argue against Valve either having an option for “vanilla” servers, or just a separate download that only connects to servers running original TF2 content.

Isn’t there an option during server creation to set that no customizables are allowed on the server? Something like “pure” server?

I never asked for this.

I would support this.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
