Hey guys, I’m looking forward to a new PC for christmas, but thats not going to happen, so i’m just going to ask the family for money so i can hopefully save up for a PC.

I’m looking for a PC that can run games like MW2, at a price range of $600 or less.
So if you guys could recommend a good PC, I’ll be thankful.

current specs:

AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor 3400+
2.20 GHz Performance Rated at: 3.96 GHz
2.0 GB of RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
ATI Radeon 4300, 1.0gb.

That setup might struggle on MW2.

A price range of $100-$500? That isn’t going to get you very far, especially if you’re looking into generic, prebuilt systems.

@topic: I need a job, too. Been in the workforce for five years and took the last year off for college, so I feel like a bum.

I mean, an xbox360 is only $200, and it can run games like MW2. :[

yeah but MW2 on the 360/PS3 is visually equivalent to mostly low with a few medium settings and no AA or AF on the PC.

You can’t be serious about this comparison… I mean, come on, if that’s how you want to generalize things, you’d might as well just get an Xbox360 or PS3 for your gaming needs.

I’ve had an Xbox360 before, and I sold it for a graphics card. :\ (I hate controllers)… I know computers do hell of a lot more things than a console, but all i want is a computer that can just play games. I wouldnt mind having DoS if it could run MW2 all on high :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m confused, is OP buying prebuilt or is he building one himself?
If you don’t know how to build a machine, get one of your friends who knows computers to build one for you. You’ll save tons.
This being said, the rig you’ve got up there should be able to run MW2 all right with a better CPU.
