2009 Iran Election and protest

I’m not going to argue with you. Enjoy your government.

EDIT: lol

One thing you have to give to the Iranians: They’ve got BALLS. Their government has killed at least 7 people, outlawed demonstrations, and cracked down on communication, and yet Iranians are STILL in the street protesting peacefully.

Enjoy your knee-jerk Libertarianism.

It’s pretty hardcore.

Wait, some people support this nutcase?

Why bother with leaders? All they do is threaten to nuke each other and make the rest of the country look like idiots. We shouldn’t live in a world where the people have to worry about whether or not a leader will screw up.

Total democracy sounds like it would be a good way forward, but when you consider that many people are idiots, bastards and support any knee-jerk hatred that comes their way it becomes less of good idea.

That might actually be bad, considering that the CIA supported Osama Bin Laden during Afghanistan’s war with Russia, and then Afghanistan collapsed into civil war once the war was over, with the Taliban coming out on top.

Also, I think I remember hearing that the U.S. supported some Somali Warlords a couple years/ a decade or two before Operation Restore Hope. Which kind of made the Warlords powerful enough to be the actual cause for Restore Hope.

So yeah, if there is a revolution and the CIA is supporting an authoritan, statistically some things are going to get fucked up

So you think that the CIA is making this whole situation up? Why? And to what end?

Not being hostile, just a simple question.

I would not be surprised, seeing how Iran is being their recent tidbit.
I wonder what the alies next move will be? o hai guise we think theres lil democracy in ur countries so we decided to bomb the shit out of you and move some armed forces here
And yeah, usually most of the riots turn out as perfectly orchestrated acts. Mind you, I’m not trying to prove anything here, just throw some facts to think of.
And maybe even U.S. have nothing to do with it, maybe it’s just middle class who wants power now.
Election rigging took place, sure. It always take place, everywhere. The question is, how large was the scale.

Thing is, you simply cannot be so sure about everything today

You may actually be quite correct.

On another note, democracies are shit. Constitutional republics are awesome. (What the US is supposed to be.)

A world ruled by my iron cock is better than any democracy

I have nothing against conspiracy theories but what you guys are talking about isn’t even close to making sense.

Well if you look for all-so-democratic Latin America with their 20-50-100 years democracies… did anything got better? No. Puberty, corruption, highest crime rates in the whole world. Just think about it.

nothing does

EDIT: Sorry, double post. There goes Ram’s promise to implement auto-merge

Those pesky kids with their facial hair and their overactive hormones…

Wait you were just talking about the CIA manipulating elections (or something) and now you’re saying Latin America had DEMOCRACY in the past century? What about the CIA involvement there? And …“Puberty?” What the fuck, man!

edit: ninja’d by Lamsey… haha

I dont know who came up with the idea that just because you have a democracy, you must live in a country with a high standard of living. Or any effects on puberty, for that matter.

What can I say? Latin America sucks. They all need to die :fffuuu:

Shit I drank a lot of beer, regardless to the quantity of stake I swallowed. Poverty, of course

Latin America is known for it’s numerous experiments of democracy, most of which failed to provide any good results

Why don’t you go down to Columbia with a rusty machete and a blowpipe take down the whole fuckin’ drug cartel.

Columbia? Did you mean Colombia? I hear Columbia is in the United States, but I’m sure there are drug cartels there, too.
