Best GPU for under or = to $100.

My dad wants to upgrade. I was thinking a Radeon 5670 HD, but I want a second opinion.

Check out the GTS 250, but honestly I think the Radeon 5670 will do you just fine.

Either a 5670 or a 9800 GT. The only thing I see wrong with a 5670 is that while it supports DX11, I doubt it’s fast enough to actually run anything in it.

EDIT: I wasn’t aware that the GTS 250 was below $100. I’d go for that if you’re going NVidia.

I’d definitely suggest a 9800GT. I chose it because it gives a lot of bang for its low buck, and I haven’t been disappointed yet.

Yeah even though it’s just a rebranded version of the 8800GT, which I still own…

You can’t go on newegg or anything and buy an 8800 GT anymore, afaik. I think they’ve all been replaced by the 9800.

I would wait until the launch of the 6000-series. Prices may go down.
