Kotor is fun, but theres like two copies for sale of kotor 2 in all of sweden
KotOR 2 is absolutely worth it. If those arenāt too expensive there I suggest you to get it. Although the game was rushed for a Christmas release by LucasArts(:pffft , was heavely cut and left injured (LA didnāt even allow Obsidian to release a big content patch that would restore some of the cut content!) it has some of the best writing by Chris Avellone and the most complex characters Iāve honestly ever seen in a Game. Thereās so much awesomeness packed in it I wouldnāt know where to start.
That said thereās a project aiming at restoring that cut content: TSLRP.
Good, Iāve done my part here
Itās hard for me to pick 3 games. But I think I would go with:
- Half-Life Series
- KotOR Series
- Age of Empires Series
Yes, kotor2 IS awesome, but the ending really left a bad tasteā¦ I think they couldāve developed the game more instead of rushing it!
Also a few more games:
-Warcraft series (not WoW)
-Commandos series
-Rogue Squadron 3D (I think itās the first of the series, not really sure of it though)
-Unreal Tournament āclassicā
-Commander Keen 5
-Kotor series
-The whole TotalWar series
-Battlefield 2
Heh. I remember Keen. I bought the id pack for nostalgic reasons a few months backā¦ It was worth it. :3
- Half-Life Series
- Wolfenstein Series, (Including the upcoming one. )
- Garryās Mod, if you consider it a game.
battlefield 2
half life 2
doom 3
This man has taste.
As far as I goā¦
1. Baldurās Gate II. Itās possible that thereās a better written game out there, but I donāt know what it is. Maybe Planescape Torment, but I always enjoyed the Baldurās Gate universe slightly more.
2.Grim Fandango. Tim Schafer is one of the few men I would go gay for. No lie.
3.Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy. Wasnāt the fullest story in the world, but the beginning few scenes were some of the most involving Iāve ever played through in any game.
This is really hard, it was difficult to find games that I would consider for my all time favorites. Iāve realized that my favorite games can only be summed up as part of a larger series (bar one of the games), and that Iām a huge Valve fanboy. If I had to choose a couple games to play for the rest of my life they would beā¦
- Half-Life Series (+mods/eventual standalone mods)
- Metal Gear Solid Series
- Duke Nukem 3D
Running for third place was Quake2, not only was the game awesome but Action Quake was sweet.
Honorable mentions:
- BioShock
- Grand Theft Auto Series
- Brothers in Arms: HH
- TES IV: Oblivion
- Call of Duty Series
- Fifa 09
- Rock Band
Thatās all that come to mind right now. My childhood was dominated by Half-Life mods like TFC and DoD, so outside of Half-Life all my favorites are pretty modern.
Planescape: Torment and KotOR2 have basically the same plot.
For the PC:
-
System Shock 2: If you put Bioshock on your list then you have this game to thank for itā¦ quite literally. It was suspenseful, had an engaging storyline, and quite possibly one of the best villains ever concocted.
-
Half-Life: I love them all to death but the first one is really what got me into the series. No need to explain this one here lol.
-
Left 4 Dead: Best Coop/multiplayer game ever. Iāve played it so much since release and not showing any signs of stopping soon. And as some others have saidā¦ it really is quite relaxing.
For the Snesā¦ these are pretty much all RPGās:
-
Tales of Phantasia: My favourite RPG gameā¦ great combat system and epic story. Not to mention the awesome graphics for its day.
-
Chrono Trigger: Pretty much what got me into RPG games in general. Superb story and combat system though not as engaging as the Tales one.
Iād mock you derisively, but itās finals week and I need all my energy for more important matters. Though I loved KotOR and KotOR2, they aināt got shit on Planescape: Torment, if youāll pardon my French.
1: Descent 1, 2 & 3. By far. Simply because of many fond memories, and blowing up robots. Anybody else remember these epic games?
2:Anything and everything Valve made, because anything and everything thay have made is awesome.
3: Whatever I happen to be playing right now. I never stay on one game for too longā¦
noone said splinter cell or prince of persia , hehe
Oh man, I love Grim Fandango. I actually finished it not that long ago again, I have the original big box it came in and everything; what an amazing game.
Ooh, Splinter Cell, I forgot that. I enjoyed that a lot.
Prince of Persia was good, but not really deserving of Top. Mirrorās Edge howeverā¦ Enjoyed That gameplay (acrobaticās atleast).
My list:
1: Half-Life (add everything that has ever spawned from it)
2: Duke Nukem 3D (my first game ever, Iām not really sure if was bad parenting on my dads part but I think I turned out alright, valedictorian of my HS and studying physics in college)
3: The Age of Empire Series (My first strategy game, and second game ever, this game also gave me an interest in learning 'cause it made history cool and fun)
Have you tried Age of Mythology? Epic.
-
Half life series by a LOOONNNGGGG Shot
-
Bioshock (awesome freaking game, cant wait for #2)
-
Cant decide btween L4D and Dead space both really pwn games
Close ones for #3 were rock band, starcraft series, tfc,X-men games ,tf2 Duke nukem 3d, doom (first fps i played,) doom 3, quake 2, portal, css, Warcraft series, World of warcraft (yes im a WoW geat stfu leave me alone its a fun game)and the suikoden series ā¦ all theese came close threes and 3 is close to 2 i like all theese games almost the same cept halflife just that much better
No I havenāt.
Iāve had it recommended to me several times, but I just never got around to it.
Damn real life.
1: Half Life 2
2: Bioshock
3: Halo 3
-
Half-Life (includes 2, ep 1, ep), just like almost everyone else on this thread
-
World of Warcraft, GTA4, GTA: Vice City, Portal, Counter Strike: Source and Team Fortress Two.
-
Diablo 2, Hitman: Blood Money, Warcraft 3 & Frozen Throne, Red Alert
The oneās in two and three arenāt in any particular order, I just canāt decide which one of those I like better. My preference comes in tiers
