Your Favourite BM Media?

I dont know, theyre all so good ! :3

Best. Shading. Ever.
That’s prerendered, right?

Yay, i win the obvious question award!

YAY!

If you don’t have anything to say, don’t bother posting.

Yeah man. The lightning is what really made the scene in HL1. You guys are keeping the lightning in, right?

On a less stupid note, I dunno why everyone’s so fixated on that Ep2 scene. I thought from the first moment I saw it that it was just G-Man twisting your memory of the place and that’s not really what it looked like. I mean, the facility was bombed, so wherever G-Man took you, it is definitely NOT BM.

And since the devs have said several times over the past year that they won’t change it, I think it should be added to the ‘THOU SHALT NOT SPEAK OF’ list.

Lighting :meh:

Is it how it looks now or before the official one?

Same question, its hard to tell.

[color=black][COLOR=black]The new shot posted has a few differences. It doesn’t have the pipes that run up the side of the building, it has more/changed plant life, addition of power lines and minor building features, and more objects scattered throughout the road (Traffic cones and concrete road blocks).

[color=black][COLOR=black]Those are some things I noticed.

It does. Thanks!

i love the area to the right–black mesa seems to be an actual laboratory and research facility now, what’s with it actually having labs and all. even though we may never reach that room (and most likely won’t), it’s nice to see evidence of a larger facility.

Now the Vorts won’t see ‘a crowbar coming at them down a steel corridor,’ they’ll see ‘a crowbar coming at them down a well lit, inviting, open laboratory environment’

As do I. The difference to the original is just amazing.

I remember as a kid when i first played Half-Life, i thought it was so cool how i could see scientists walking about through openings like in the original pic. The new version blows my mind. The detail and environment is overwhelming in a very good way.

I loved the atmosphere Black Mesa brought me. This looks even better. Can’t wait to ride that transit system and explore Black Mesa!!!

I think all the media blows my mind, but i cant wait to walk around this part of the facility…

Xeno, your sig is wrong, the tram lady says “topside temperature” not “outside”

Very true. Anyway, it’s similar in Black Mesa, an underground facility, right? Outside, Topside…

Mi favourite pic… hell, dunno! Obviously I like the impressive-looking vistas of Surface Tension, the cool effects of the RC room, and the new ambient of every map. So I’m gonna choose one that hasn’t been given the praise it deserves in my opinion:

I’m not sure why, but it’s one of the most vivid pics in the media section; it seems almost as if it’s moving, right? Oh, and I just love the changes: that area consisted just of blocks and blocks of rocky warehouses and bland-looking environment. Now is full of live! Ram did it, right? Congratulations, then! I hope every level is as vivid as that pic.

And… I cannot help but wonder if that aeroplane flying past just above your head is going to be as impressive as it seems :3

I think Ram said something about the plane exploding the truck but… I must’ve got it wrong, right? Why’d they do that? Collateral damage? Will the Mantas teleport Alien Grunts to the ground as they did back in HL1, so… the plane blows up the place including the truck?

Blast Pit was always my favorite.

jiggly plant!

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
