Xen

I was responding to the question about where the fast and poison headcrabs came from.

shudder poison head crabs…

Then I guess you’re right, but I think it said somewhere in the Marc Laidlaw vault that poison headcrabs ate something that made them that way.

It did. But I refuse to accept that explanation because it’s retarded. I think the Combine modified them.

Or it could have been evolution at work.

The caffeine from the Coca-Cola plant really sped things up.

Fuckin’ poison gonarch oh lord.

Fast gonarch? :fffuuu:

They ate something that the Combine gave them

Like I said, I refuse to accept that explanation.
EDIT: Oh wait, nevermind. I saw the “They ate something” and didn’t bother to read the rest.

And I liked this better when it was The Xen. :frowning:

Me too, I found it amusing. Perhaps we can have it changed to “teh Xen”?

Just played through HL1 again, god I hate those baby headcrabs! Just two of the feckers can get your health down in seconds. I really hope they won’t do as much damage in BMS, they should only be a minor nuisance instead of a pain in the ass.

Judging by their appearance in BM, I guess they will be a lot easier to kill and therefore not as annoying as in HL. At least I hope so :fffuuu:

I’m just wondering if Xen will have those floating islands or whatever they were, or if they will be joined to a fixed surface.

It’d still have some floating islands, but I’d also prefer for the big island to be even more big. And less jumping :meh:

I really hate the part where you had to jump in the tubes and then get blown out and then you had to maneuver yourself to land on the moving islands. I don’t really hate the jumping puzzles per se, I just hate the jumping mechanic, if this could be a bit more intuitive that would be swell

I can`t imagine Xen in Source  I think it would be the most attractive chapter of Black Mesa

As I said in another topic, Blue Shift did Xen pretty well. It focused more on exploration and less to jumping platforms.

True, and I also like the fact that you get to see more of the science team’s efforts to collect specimens and such.

That little excavation site with the encampment was one of my favorite places.

pretty much indeed

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
