Xen Holiday Screenshot

Ed China would say: A real bargain for such a marvelous piece of work!

Will you add new HEV Scietists model with Xen update?

I loved that picture. Can’t wait for more!

I’ve also managed to make 2 people buy the game on Steam. One that played it, LOVED it and managed a 100% on the current achievements.

I myself am missing 2 more. When XEN lands on Steam, i’ll finish them.
Any plans to add more achievements on the game?

Wow now that’s way better

There will definitely be more achievements in Xen.

And so ends another post of pointless speculation.

Now to wait for the next hype build screen shot. I hope it is soon.

Got a feeling they won’t change much :expressionless: but would be great if they did.
I mean the structure design is great just the textures and lighting/colours need a complete revamp like the Photoshop edits did.
Hopefully feedback gets taking in and the caves look alot more alien in the next build lets see…

Personally I actually found most of those edits to have a much less moody atmosphere. Esp. that pink/green one. They certainly look… strange, but I think you can manage alien and atmosphere at the same time.

Yes, all Xen levels will look exactly like this cave with the exact same textures.

Thank God! I love monotony in textures!

I like (and have always liked) the new textures- it’s the generic rockiness of the area that I always found a little uninspired.

Note to self be more clear when posting something.

I’m certain not all of Xen has that blue ambiance. After all, we’re looking at a closed-ceiling cavern, illuminated by blue electrical lights and likely the blue glowing healy water from the first game.
Regardless, I think what we’ve seen so far is perfect! They’ve taken creative license to a perfect level. It’s familiar enough to be recognizable, but different enough to be a new experience.

What I think we should really wonder about is how well it plays. The original Xen was full of long-jumping but also had plenty of on-foot segments (as well as plenty of difficult combat). I wonder if we’ll see a better balance of it all in New Xen? Or if it’ll be relatively the same ratio?

What if the cave is illuminated by those Xen healing pools, that now not only heal you, but provide an awesome source of light!

Then a Bullsquid teleports and smacks you into the abyss, therefore rendering the admiration of the lighting futile.

Haven’t looked at the picture for a week.

Now i went to see it again. Damn it i want to play it so badly!

I actually have a very good question for the Devs:

What will the space background contain?

Will it be more like a colourful background with many galaxies, gasses and stuff, or a bit more
realistic with a few galaxies and stars?

Also, would it be possible to add moving effects on the “sky”?
Like a spinning galaxy?

More realistic? Who said Xen was floating in normal space (as we would define it)? It’s a border world between dimensions.

True, but still, who knows better then the Devs.

Carbon stars with ancient satellites colonized by sentient fungi. Gas giants inhabited by vast meteorological intelligences. Worlds stretched thin across the membranes where [the] dimensions intersect… Impossible to describe with our limited vocabulary!

That just made my day

Besides that: i still would buy it 8|
