It kind of makes me sad to see these people talking about Xen and expecting TEH COMBINEZ and crashed UFOs and fully-interactable RPG Vortigaunt villages with romance options. When the real thing comes out they will actually be disappointed.

We are glad that people are excited and are frothing at the mouth for more media. That’s lovely and incredibly motivating. We’ll deliver some when we feel the time is right - there’s an awful lot going on behind the scenes right now and we have an enormous amount on our plate. It’s the main reason why I haven’t really been active recently. We’re really busting ass here. Apologies to those of you who feel let down and who are dying for more - but this is kind of how the team has always operated, we run on our own version of Valve Time and we’re very loose and free with what we do publicly. But I can assure you that we’re trying our damn best. It’s all in the interest of the game and community.
This thread is now being spammed up with stuff that isn’t conversation about the actual screenshot. The fact that there’s nothing more to say about the shot, in and of itself, is fine. There’s a very finite number of things you can discuss about a single screenshot and the conversation was really already finished months ago. If you’re not posting about the screenshot, please just stop posting in this thread. If you guys want a general Xen chit chat, feel free to make a thread for that - but constant complaining and whining does nothing but annoy us (or rather, me) and make us (or rather, me) less inclined to be active on here.
I for one am glad for your decision to include a camel companion for Gordon to find in Xen, kind of makes me wonder if you’ll give the option for the player to name it but other than that it’s all good. Take your time and I’m sure that the camel screenshot will turn out great. <3

Since after the Xen update, the game will be complete, i wonder if we will get a glimpse of CC’s new game.
Like post-credits sneak peak or something.
One thing is certain, i would be really sad if the entire time was meant for a one hit wonder.
These guys have talented hands and i would love to see more from them.

They already answered this. They said no.
The whole game would have to be made from scratch.
Unless you want to wait another 10 years plus.
And when source 3 comes out we wait another 10 years.
Complete doesn’t equate with the end here. After Xen they have already confirmed that MP will see a lot more love and they are thinking about co-op (however this will not be the SP campaign with friends).
They have also stated quite a while ago that they’ll most likely not work on another project after everything around BM will be done. Perhaps some of the devs will indeed start another project, but CC as a whole, unlikely.
Guess it makes sense that some of the devs are not interested.
About the co op in the singleplayer, it was confirmed by Synergy team, that when Black Mesa is complete they will make a co op mode like they did to Hl2.
Ahh that’s nice. I never really liked Sven Coop changes to HL1, so it will be a good opportunity to finally play Half-Life 1 in coop with my best friend
