WTF is with Steam?

ya i know, theres no comparison, i mean id rape brokenhingefridge in a contest, like win7 rapes vista

I swear it seems like I’m the only person in the world who, after 3 to 4 years, hasn’t experienced any problems with Vista.

:fffuuu::fffuuu::fffuuu:

Wish i could say the same :frowning:

Well, it definitely got a bad rap when it was first released. After all of the updates and fixes, I didn’t think it was really that bad. But now that I’ve gone Windows 7, I can never go back.

Apart from ones I caused myself, neither have I.

lies

No, no. Windows Vista is the beta version of Windows 7.

Totally agree. I’m using Windows from 3.1 version. And Vista (together with Milenium Edition) are the worst OS released by MS. First half year was a disaster. I just absolutely skipped Vista (with DX10 card) and don’t regret anything.

W7 worked good and smoothly even as RC. I am just surprised myself

Even now when I have to do anything with Vista I’m nervous but maybe it is only psychical ;O)

The memory usage is due to superfetch, probably being configured differently between the two operating systems. Superfetch just caches commonly used applications so that they open quicker.
The majority of that used memory is likely to be your cached apps.
I personally don’t know how much memory the OS uses for the stack/kernel in vista/7 though and unless that’s known then there isn’t much point in comparing their respective memory usage.

Windows vista is a problem, unrelated. Close steam, go to the steam base directory (ex: c:\Program Files\Steam), and delete clientregistry.blob and re-open steam. Should be fixed!

I hate Vista as much as anybody, but I’m not so sure about the worst. After all my old computer came preloaded with Windows ME :fffuuu:

EDIT: How did I not notice that?

Get a Mac!

fffuuu

Get him a Mac!

Get to the store to buy a Mac!

Or simply get Windows 7.

or simply change thread title to “lets bash vista, or some other nonsense”
