WTF is Halo Reach?

To be perfectly honest with you, I joined AFTER leak-free, so not sure if you can call me an oldfag. But it was certainly before the influx of furfags and animefags, Which caused all the outrage, starting with Kaze, Paddy and me trolling a bunch of weaboos along with that JohnFaggot069 in the “Post Your Desktop” thread.

:3

Yeah YOU

That was a good day. Although I wished they’d stayed. The trolling was just too short lived. But perhaps some want more from this forum than just trolling.

Fridge was pretty fast at moderating this day.

I’m pretty sure I joined this forum during that period of trolling so I kinda miss it :frowning:

I’m pretty sure I was inctive during this period of trolling, so I missed it as well.

ODB, did you join before, or after GamerNode? Just curious, because I don’t remember anyone using that name before or during the GN period :stuck_out_tongue:

What? Every chapter was SHOOTING. There were some small differences between chapters SETTING-wise, but that’s been done 1000 times over.

The only gameplay elements from Modern Warfare 2 are the sprint and… oh wait thats it. ONLY THE SPRINT FEATURE. AND THAT’S BEEN DONE IN 1000 OTHER GAMES TOO, SO YOU CAN’T SAY THEY TOOK IT FROM MODERN WAREFARE 2.

What? Half Life’s world designs were fairly simple. And I have no idea what the fuck you are talking about with the “BRIDGES OVER BOTTOMLESS PITS AND REPEATED CLOSED IN HALLWAYS” in Halo. In fact I laughed out loud at that.

I can’t name anyone who even KNOWS about Black Mesa. It’s just an obscure mod anyway.

I can’t defend a game with people like you giving it a bad name. You’re the reason no one likes Halo.

First of all, GTA4 did NOT leave an impression on me. I mean it’s fun… for about 3 days. Half-Life 2 does have an amazing story… but the gameplay is not the best. And I won’t say anything about Deux Ex because I haven’t played it… nor do I intend to.

Shut up, moron. You’ve never even played Halo and it’s obvious.

Don’t think I wouldn’t get around to you. You interpreted what I said wrong. And this should sum up my feelings on this WHOLE FUCKING situation. I love Valve. I love Bungie. I love Half-Life. I love Halo. Right now I am much more excited for Halo: Reach than Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Part of this is due to the fact that Valve has released nothing more than several fucking concept art pictures, while a great deal is known about Halo: Reach. Everything I know about Halo: Reach I’m liking. Refined forge, theater, multiplayer. Incredible graphics, storyline, weapons, campaign. What’s there to be excited about in Half-Life 2: Episode 3? The storyline I suppose… but that’s it. That’s all there is to be excited about. Do you see my logic? No, you probably don’t. You’re too busy thinking you know everything.

While there may be some validity to that, your avatar is anime and thus you cannot be taken seriously.

It’s Touhou. Not anime. It’s a game series I enjoy. Leave me alone.

lol

I for one would advocate Half Life 2: Episode One as the best paced of the Half Life games. It always threw something new at you in very quick succession. Underground, directing Alyx’s fire with a flashlight. Fixing fuse boxes yourself in seconds which originally would have required Alyx to do it and would have bogged down the game’s pace. The classic elevator standoff with a swarm of zombies, destined to be repeated ad infinitum by Left 4 Dead and other following shooters. Combine door breaches. A room full of laser tripmines. Blasting a gunship THROUGH a large roof atrium. A epic fight through a hospital with some of the world’s most badass music. A multi stage faceoff against rappeling combine, snipers, and other hazards while escorting citizens to a train. Fighting a massive strider inside a railroad building. And the whole city blowing up at the end.

And that’s all the stuff from off the top of my head. Episode Two was also very good, with the added bonus of narrative punch and a non-linear penultimate fight against a veritable company of striders and hunters.

I agree in the most relevant aspect available

How the fuck did this thread get back on topic? Also, Ramirezoid’s sig is technically true… Just saying.

Yes, the armor in Halo is more advanced. But it doesn’t inject you with wonderful morphine when you’re near death, does it?

During gamernode, that’s for sure. Curiously, I don’t really remember you either. Or I do… nevermind

How about a cup of “STFU animefag”?

I have enough of this jacked up shit from my 11-year old brother already. He is getting brainfucked because of anime fucks like you.
Fuck out of this place.

There’s a difference between actually being open, and feeling open. Yes, Halo and and Halo 2 had different open areas, but the problem that people pointing out that they’re only a succession of hallways is because none of the areas FEEL like they’re open, or big. They may be open, but it still always feels strictly linear, and like a giant hallway is still directing you around.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
