Worst game youve played. Superman 64 doesnt count

I would agree, Dear Esther is a shitty GAME. It may have a good story or good art design but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a shitty game.

100%

The most disappointing game that I’ve bought must be C&C Red Alert 3, I know the actors in Red Alert 2 were corny, but at least they tried…

San Francisco Rush - N64
Street Fighter EX3 - PS2
Perfect Dark Zero - 360
Death Rally (2012) - PC/Tablet/Mobile
Kid Chamelon - (VC) (not optimized to run at 60hz in PAL regions, like many others)
Project Gotham Racing - XBOX
X2 Wolverine’s Revenge - PC
Duke Nukem Forever - PC

Diablo 3.

Exactly. And I tried to figure out what I was missing, so I watched some others play it on YouTube, and they got just as frustrated with it as I did. Fuck that game, there’s no point to it, it’s just an “interactive book” or some bullshit like that. No reason at all that people should be praising what a wonderful game it is.

Nowhere near being THAT bad, but I guess you play only the Godly games when D3 is crap for ya

I don’t understand why so many people hates Diablo 3
I found it pretty addicting the first time I played through it, though it gets a bit boring after you’ve completed it one time. But it’ll always be fun to play it with friends!

I think the reason so many people hates it is the lack of Diablo 1/2 atmosphere and the story-telling was tbh awful.

But other than that, it was pretty decent and fun.

I haven’t purchased it yet but here is my take on it. Its a bad successor to the Diablo series but still a good game which puts it in a weird place. Fanboys are bound to hate it for the former everyone else is gonna love it for the latter.

I love the former Diablo games and yet I still like Diablo 3 and find it a worthy succesor.

… Even though Blizzard North’s 2005 version looks pretty badass and still kept the same artistic style of the former Diablo games.

I think people were disappointed with the game because sequel after a decade is expected to be perfect if not better.

While I like Diablo III, It is incredibly short. It feels as though the entire game is as long as an Act and a bit in Diablo II. Basically, they shipped a third of a game IMO.

That, the always online thing (rubberbanding in single player) and the story. It set itself up to be EPIC and have a good long campaign, and then threw all that away for a cheezy last Act (that is SOOOO short it is a joke) and left it open for the epic (hoped for) storyline to be introduced with DLC.

Sorry for the off topic rant. Not a bad game, but a HUGE letdown and a slap in the face from the developers/publishers.

So you couldn’t be assed to do any research at all on a product before you expended any time or money on it? That’s not DE’s fault, that’s yours. This the “worst game you’ve played” thread, not the “dimmest fucking moments” thread.

Research or not its still his opinion on it and its still legitimate. How often do you really need to worry if the game you are buy is a pretentious “art game” that has no actual gameplay? Not very, so typically its safe to assume a game is actually going to have you know gameplay. I don’t see why you are so defensive about it.

I played through Dear Esther once.

Isn’t a game suppoused to convey a message through gameplay?

I really feels more like a interactive book of sorts rather than a game. Even “The Cat and the Coup” had more gameplay than this and that was a straight up documentary.

When the entire point of it’s existence was that it is exactly what it is, which is an interactive book. When every news outlet is lit up with the new “interactive novel” that’s sweeping the internet. When it’s an adaptation of a fucking mod that’s been out FOR FUCKING YEARS.

I respect opinions, but not fucking retarded uneducated opinions.

So I am supposed to look up every game before I buy it on steam? Why there’s a description right there on steam. And no where in it does it imply that all you do is walk around. The closest they come to having a disclaimer saying “Hey this isn’t actually a video game” is “Forget the normal rules of play” which is vague at best and implies that they are innovating gameplay not removing it.

His opinion is as educated as yours, you both played the “game” and one person liked it and the other didn’t. Just because he made a regrettable purchase due to a lack of research doesn’t mean is opinion on the game is less valid.

Do you think half the people in this thread would be posting “the worst game they’ve played” if they had thoroughly researched it before hand and realized it was garbage?

lol of course.

Steam gives you at least 1 video screen caps, description, list of features and the metascore. What else is there really to look up? Unless on the rare occasion its some oddball shit like Dear Esther.
