Well, both teams deserved red cards sometimes. But it would suffice for the referee to show one single red card and the players would cal down. The problem is that, if he had done that, he would have chosen the winner. He should have shown the red card regardless. He chose not to and the game went out of his control.

There was one foul where two players were involved in the mess, one of each team, don’t remember who. The referee should should have expelled them both. That would be a strong warning for the other players and the teams would still be equilibrated. The next player stupid enough to commit an intentional foul after that could be expelled without remorse for his stupidity.
