WON-styled background

Finally made this using ODB’s background (from the old thread here)

How would I go about making this load up on startup like the actual backgrounds? Right now I simply did it by loading it on startup with map_background in my autoexec, but I’d imagine there’s a better way.

Also is there any way to hide the BM logo just in this map? It’d probably look a bit better but I also don’t want to permanently remove it for when you are playing as well.

this menu looks very good nice work

I think the Black Mesa logo is only a text entry in a script for the menu.

If you delete the script entry that tells the Menu to put the “Black Mesa” above start game it should disappear.

Hope this helps

I found it’s contained in the gameinfo.txt, but if I delete it, it goes away for everything - which looks wrong when you pause the game and there’s no logo.

I doubt there would be a way to remove it only in the menu

make it a little more transparent/see through

it’s rather blinding as it is now

if I recall, the Half-Life version was yellow text on an orange background, which wasn’t so bad

stark contrast of white and dark gray is rather painful to look at

Hmmm…

Not sure how to remove The title simply for the Backround…

Is there any way to write an exception in the Chapter list? or gameinfotext?

Other than that it looks cool… But I will say something about the hover the mouse over text. Check the title screen on game launch. The Black mesa text on inbound is done with effects and blurs the font. Try to replicate those settings if you can on the hover mouse over the options. Could be just that little something extra rather than a change of color?

Liked the music too you used…

The Logo text is in Resource/Client Scheme.res I think check there opens with notepad

anyway hope this helps a bit more

Awesome!

Oh, I was thinking of the PS2 Half-Life interface

carry on

Here’s the download

Please note I only put the background together and added the music and sounds, the actual menu theme was done by cursor XP (there’s a link to that in the description) and I don’t really know how to change menu elements.

Also if you downloaded it prior to my edit of this post, redownload it as it was missing required files for it to work.
