Yeah about the no manual saving… another sign of console port-itis. Oh and you can’t start a new campaign game without losing your old save data. I have at least 3 different save games from Crysis 1, where I have different weapon sets, generally follow different tactics, etc.
As for my performance with Crysis 2, no that was without DX11, so I guess that explains it :-). I actually installed it yesterday and figured I’d give it a try, at which point I discovered the above statement (lack of starting new game without losing old). Your performance is probably to be expected, and no, hard drives are usually one of the furthest things away as far as bottlenecking is concerned (really only affects load times).
I think you should piss on the disk, put it in a Zip-Loc bag, and mail it back.
