Will BM Illicit Other Remakes?

To be honest, CM is not just a graphical update, it also tries to change the mood and style of the game to be more cinematic, hence all the stupid bullshit FakeFactory added to it.

Yeah, that’s the part I don’t like. I wish someone would undo that FakeFactory stuff and just keep the maps and effects. Same goes for the shitty music and sweps.

CM is a massive 8Gb download, but worth the wait in the end for the most part imho.
The music, which I think is from Batman (??) Dark Knight is moody and doesn’t take over the experience.
Some of the new models are a little questionable, but heck, whatever rocks your boat.

I’m pretty sure Ram is being sarcastic, bro.

You should have said:

“It’s words like THESE that assure me BM is gonna look gorgeous bc The BM Team knows that good-looking games don’t need all that SHIT.”

And by SHIT, I mean the words that are bolded in Ram’s quote. Those words describe the very thing we have been bashing and that’s mods that take a game and just saturate the hell out of it, make things blurry, HDRbloom x9000, and fucking make reflective textures just look like a complete fuckmess.

@Raminator, You should have said IRON SIGHTS too! I can’t feel immersed in a game unless it has true IRON SIHGTS.

Well, while most of that is true, I can’t think of a better use for high HDR than in the desert. Also, I can’t think of a better place for shiny surfaces than a Science Lab. And lets not forget, some foggish blur in an alien world isn’t so bad of an idea either.

Nah, I’m just being difficult; you’re right.

But, I will admit, some of those features do look really nice when placed in the right environment. So I hope that the devs don’t banish these effects completely, but instead pace themselves when it comes to necessity and eye candy.

WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE STUPID FUCKING PONYS, WHAT IS THIS PHASE PEOPLE ARE GOING THROUGH[/SIZE]

But seriously, I don’t think Half-life 2 needs a remake, I didn’t find it was as good of a game as the original Half-life, but that’s just me, like someone else said maybe in 10 years when theres another source engine.

Thanks for the heads up, bro.

:hmph:

Have you not seen the LE edition (light edition). It keeps all the of the textures and map updates, but drops the soundtrack/HD models and Gameplay tweaks.
Although it’s slightly outdated and unsupported, but a 64bit system is not needed with this version.

Isn’t all that stuff really old!?

It’s old, but it’s still the same mod.

LMAO Dotard you’re such a faggot.

If anything, CM version of waterboat and buggy rides is the shit. Only faggots and retards give a shit about HL2 wiredrawn ‘feel’. Whatever moron first coined the idea…

It doesn’t. LE is merely a joke towards all the whiners, not much else.
Full version, however, has all the options you’ll ever want.
Walked through CM last week (with original soundtrack and major char models, modded minor npc and combine), and guess what, I could hardly notice the difference - up until I went back to vanilla and realized how outdated the whole shit was.
The only gripe was that the Elite Combine design was lazy and the balance needed tweaking.

Whinging kids look at the videos, see Adriana Lima made of poligons, start bawwing like morons. Should anyone be surprised?

Not actually tried the LE edition because I couldn’t give less of a shit but I’m just going off what I read on the main thread on fakefactorys forums.
I here you, I’ve been playing through with the full version and character models also, minus Alyx’s model, there were none that I actually like so I thought fuck it and used the original.
It’s definitely a nice change, the new textures and detail breaths a whole new life into the saga.
Did you find the Combine shot gunners to be a bit overpowered? apart from a few balance issues I’m enjoying it so far.

Btw, I liked the way combine would kill you really fast if you’re caught snoozing. The catch is that your shots are just as deadly - so CM easy was ultimately more challenging then vanilla Hard. It felt great, but it gave you some problems - like dying ridiculously fast in citadel and alyx gun in ep1 being the epitome of overpowered.

ODB Im waiting to see CM11 will be any better or not. CM looks good but its still not what I want to see.
Also yeah, vanilla HL2 is outdated but i still see the art.

Have you guys seen Wolfenstein 3D lately? I’m so much better looking than that guy. Fuck old graphics. I’m gonna go divorce my wife.

lol, art.

excuses, excuses

Let it be son, everything about CM was said … now back to the topic … what ?

Hey c’mon, art’s important.

I will say that certain aspects of Portal 1 deserve a remake based on what may be considered retcons by Portal 2. The wall textures, heavier use of panels, cubes, all other sorts of testing elements. At the beginning of Portal 2, when you played out the test chambers that had grown over, they didn’t at all seem like the same place. But I’m probably missing some story details… Still though, there were some vast differences that the story ignored…

bitch I ain’t yo’ son so keep that flippa-flapppa shut, nigga.

Also, ‘art’ is a catchword coined by pretentious little underage queers to justify their foolish fanboyishness over petty items of obsession. Nuff’ said.

ODB out.

I don’t think Portal 1 needs a complete remake, a simple texture pack would probably be enough. Or a port to a newer version of Source, but updating it to the same look of Portal 2 would just be silly, seeing as Portal 2 is supposed to look different; it’s several hundred years in the future.
