white screen at menu

when i launch black mesa it shows the loading screen then i hear the menu music but it is a white screen any ideas?

Try running another source game. If it’s the same case, your machine can’t support it and need to upgrade.

half life 2 runs fine its black mesa thats messing me about

Try episode 2.

try running half life episode 2 wait install onto that or see how episode 2 to runs

what

do i install it to episode 2?

What does that even mean? Are you using google translate?

Don’t change Black mesa’s directory, he said try running Episode 2. (what that would accomplish though, I dunno since they unified the engine a while back)

Go under tools and make sure the Source SDK Base is installed. (original, 2006, 2007)

oh i had source sdk base 2006-2007 no original ill try to have them all installed i will report back to tell the results

it didnt work

Maybe your hardware can’t run DirectX 9 properly. Wich type is your graphics card?

how do you know my grapchics card well i cant play my games anymore anyway steam bugged out and i lost my games D:

Do you know how to post your system specs?

how

If you’re using Windows 7, go to your start menu then right-click on computer. Click Properties. Half the shit you need to know is on the page right there. After that figure out your GPU (Video card) open up your device manager and check the display adapters.

oh shut up

Manufacturer: Hewlett packard

Processor: Intel Atom cpu 270 @1.60 GHz 1.60 GHz

Installed memory (ram) 2.00 GB

system type: 32 bit operating system

GPU (video card): Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family

That’s the problem. You need a new computer. Your gpu, CPU and ram desperately need an update.

Acade’s right, you need at least (that means minimum) 2.00 GHZ on the CPU alone. Your machine’s not good enough. What I would recommend to you is to save up and buy the parts you need from a Microcenter near you, or troll around on Newegg.

Do some research and see how the parts preform (look for the serial number and look for reviews), and compare prices. After that, build yourself a new machine.

Given if you want to spend around a grand for a new machine, it should last you at least another 2-3 years if not longer.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
