Which MP5 model do you prefer?

I like the new one much more, since it looks more similar to the original HL mp5.
But I hope you will have a HL1 styled bob on weapons in BMS final version… Further I hope for an adjustable fov… Like it was in HL1.

I don’t know, but in reality soldiers don’t really wear much hearing protection, they just keep their radios in their ears which does some. Or they do, small ones, if they prefer, but it’s not required or anything.

Ah, cool, that’s best.

It looks like a flash hider or muzzle brake/compensator, which would make the gun have less recoil.

Hey guys, how come it was decided to take off the EOTech? I mean, it’s not so bad, when you’ve got an M203 attached to it. :stuck_out_tongue:

He don’t need to heard all this again, he worked on it for many years.

To be honest, neither of them tickle me at all. The new one looks too call of duty, while the old one looks too high tech. If they took the EOC sight off the old one, than I would say the old one. But the new one is cooler to the extent of the original.

I honestly liked the M4. Espically considering soldiers use m4s in spades oppose to mp5s.

EDIT: [COLOR=ā€˜Yellow’]Looking at the new one now, it is exceptional. The problem actually lies in the angle the character holds the gun. It looks too long in first person and you cannot appreciate the grenade launcher and muzzle hider due to its strange angle. It’s almost as if it were in constant iron sight aim.

Well, it’s definitely NOT in constant ā€œiron-sight aimā€ I’ll tell you that.

I like the M4 too.

I was talking about the original Half-Life, not Black Mesa.

Really? I always thought that the old MP5 model looked too pimped-out.

Yes, I believe that the new MP5 model is more in line with the original.

It doesn’t have fancy doodads like EOTech holographic sights.

Did you know that there the HECU were to originally use Colt assault rifles?

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that Gordon holds the MP5 weirdly.

But I’m sure that these sorts of things are subject to change.

I think it makes more sense for them to have MP5s.

Yeah, if they would move the Mp5 more to the right and a little higher, than it would be good. It’s too low and not angled well – it’s a shame too, because it looks very awesome in the wiki as a model…

About 7

None of them, because M4 is way better.

If only it made silenced thumps like in the old videos.

I just would like it to be close as the original, so no eotech sight.

Haha, that would be a sight. :stuck_out_tongue: I have seen an M203 with a flash hider built on. Looked neat.

No its not a silencer its a suppress…wait?

sorry i thought you said it wrong

ā€œSilencerā€ and ā€œsuppressorā€ are interchangeable, but I prefer to use ā€œsilencerā€ because ā€œsuppressorā€ can refer to recoil/flash/sound suppressors, which are all different devices with different functions.

But it makes such a lovely ā€œffoonkā€ sound!

Personally I prefer the M4 model. If I HAD to choose out of the MP5s it’s the new one

For some reason Valve thinks grenade launchers are loud and have insane recoil. If you’ve ever seen one fired, you’d know it’s…pretty pathetic compared to how it’s seen in Half-Life. In this case though, fuck realism, it looks much more badass. B)

e/ Second MP5 model. First has that PDW stock and eotech, along with that grenade launcher that looks like it came straight off an AK. Ew.

That GL is from Russian.

Meh I’m a M4 whore, I tend to play games now (based on IF I was there Mentality) Mp5 is great for the small confines of Half-life but If I was just stuck in the hallways sure I’d go for mp5 but since it also goes outdoors Id go for M4 so, use the Right gun for the right job. M4 works for the Overall Scenario.

Correct me if I’m wrong but M4 does better for less spread over longer range then MP5. I know for fact MP5 is used (more often then not) for very tight conditions like boats and so on, But like I said M4 Works for the hallways and buildings as well as the open areas as well. So based on the if I was there approach I’d choose M4 loadout.

For those who think into this as far as tactical goes, M4 Or FNP90 for me.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
