Which MP5 model do you prefer?

Hey there, Black Mesa forum members. There have been two renditions of the MP5 submachine gun, the first is a MP5A5 with a GP-30 grenade launcher, EOTech Holographic sight and MP5K PDW-style side-folding stock and the second is a MP5A3 with a M203 grenade launcher and flash suppressor. Which do you prefer? Or, alternatively, do you dislike both MP5 models and instead favour the M4 Carbine? Discuss.

Personally, I prefer the latest version of the MP5 because I find it more aesthetically pleasing. The side-folding stock on the MP5A5 looked weird and unnatural, while the EOTech Holographic sight was really just there for eye candy and had no useful function. The only thing I liked about it was the GP-30 grenade launcher, because it seemed to “fit” better than the bulkier M203.

I wish after Black Mesa release, they will release the old MP5 if for some of us to download if some player prefer it.

I’m wondering if the dev team have even kept any of the old models and skins. Judging from the wiki and this thread, most likely not.

When (If?) the mod is released, I can put together a skin that looks like the old MP5

The current screenshots of the MP5 on the wiki made me like the older MP5, but looking at the new renders, I’m starting to like it.

I liked the old one. It felt like it had some weight, and the EO Tech made the gun look like soldiers would actually use it.

I like the new one a lot more, not because the earlier one was innacurate (bluh bluh gp25 dont go in mp5 bluh bluh), but mostly because the current model is a lot nicer, since the previous model was kind of blocky IMO.

Of course I prefer a new one. It looks more like an original, and i like it this way.

Yes, i agree with you, the old one should be who uploaded so people want it, can use it.
