3 points,
1 it says 80% done, give or take 20%…
2 that website isn’t run by or has got any affiliation to Black Mesa, its fan run…
3 YOU just made yourself seem like a massive idiot…

i wonder if maxey will take a break from being an untouchable supreme overlord and look at this and realize he’s an idiot.
The following sentence is wrong:
“Then 2010, nothing.”
If you’ve been paying attention to the forums and the Wiki and the Steam accounts of the people on the “Team” page, you would not say “nothing”.
They have been working and keeping in contact with the forums for all of 2010 and now 2011.
The mod is in progress and they’ve explained, time and again, what the reason for the hold up is and what they’re doing. If you feel that “they haven’t told us anything about the project in a long time”, when there’s actual news from the developers on this forum as “communication” all the time, then, well…
This sentence is also misrepresentative of the scope:
“And they have less to work on than a whole new game. They remake the maps and general design of the game based on the original Half-Life.”
They are rebuilding the game from the ground up, using the maps and such as inspiration, but it’s not just a simple matter of putting this wall here or adding that entity there. No, they’re completely re-doing the game as they feel Valve would’ve made it if they had the Episode 2 Source engine.
Instead of telling others to get off their high horse, perhaps you should check to see how high that horse you’re on is.
closeups of textures and sdk logs sure are content.
i know they have been posting on the forums. everybody knows that. again, posts that don’t explain anything sure are content.
please explain exactly what that hold up is that they’ve supposedly explained.
i’ve already proved there has been no news.
:s uicide:. they ARE basing it of the original half life maps. they have screenshots of how that area looked in the original half life on their ingame screenshots.
i believe we can all clearly see now that i’m riding no horse. that’s not even my post. and anyway, i told you to go whine in that thread. this looks a lot like ignorant bashing. although, this is a response to a development time complaint, and on the BMS forums,so i’ll take the fact that the reply wasn’t “omg fuk u fagg stfu dey r wurkin on it u fuken fag plz ban this fuken asshole fuk” as a miracle.
Stop taking this shit so seriously.
Stale: What, exactly, have you contributed to this project beyond complaints? And, yes, there has been news. A lot of it. In fact, the ENTIRE WIKI is filled with news from the devs.
But I still don’t think you understand the scope of this project. It’s HUGE. And much more involved than you could possibly know. So, you are on your high horse whether you believe it or not. You’ve posted multiple complaints while not contributing a single thing…not so much as a single gib.
So, I’m sorry, but you’re going to have to wait. Just like the rest of us.
i have experience with 1:1 remaking maps, it’s easy compared to actually designing a new version of the map altogether.
Now, you might not see it, but a lot more work goes into even a basic room than you’d think, it’s a lot more than just adding a floor, 4 walls and a ceiling. When you’re playing the map you don’t see all the stuff going on in the background.
That light that’s flickering on and off? To make it work properly the values for it have to calculated so as to not increase the map’s size too much, or cause maximum settings to be hit.
That door you love to use in that one particular area? Everything around it has to be designed in such a way that its state doesn’t causes the FPS to drop by half, or glitches to occur when a prop is left in its path.
Even a simple hallway may require some special techniques to be used to prevent the engine from rendering more than needed, and causing problems as a result.
And then there’s managing progression from map to map, making sure that you don’t end up inside of a wall when you hit the changelevel.
I’d love to see you try and remake even one of the maps from half-life, but if you try, try to pick one that isn’t really easy to make, try one of the large outdoors maps, where displacements are common, or one of the on a rail maps, which are all linked together and require the train tracks to be setup just right so your train doesn’t clip through a wall or gib the player when it turns.
If you think remaking a game is easy, think again, because people here are getting sick and tired of your type of person, who think that just because the dev team set a release date for 2009, that suddenly, they owe you something.
It may be taking a long time, but as peoples expectations of this Mod are all ready massively high, It would be ridiculous for the devs to push out what they have at the moment, without making sure it’s as polished and at the right level of quality that’s expected of the mod.
I can’t stop laughing over peoples that keep typing “lol”, “lmao” and “rofl”.
I must admit I’m very new to this,
But i have to say this looks EPIC, and worth waiting for.
I’ve never given making games a go. I’ve changed skins and updated mods, but never tried to make a game, or even a map… or a skin.
And as they’re doing it out of spare time i can understand for it to take this long to make.
With exams on now, i can just manage to play 2-3 hours a week… now making a game in this situation would take ages (never ask me to make one).
So, i say good luck to the Dev team and keep up the amazing work i’ve seen so far.
"But the day of the Release will come as a thief in the night; in the which the trolls shall pass away with a great noise, and the forums shall melt with fervent heat, the interwebz and Steam also that are therein shall be burned up. "
Because apparently you have not heard of torrents… So really, the bottom line is who really gives a s**t what is released when, since anything can be had the moment it is released anywhere… so as soon as you have some pubes on your nuts, get into torrents… jees!! :fffuuu:
It is done but they wait for something else…like Portal 2 SDK to port BM to the new Source engine but I’m wondering why they aren’t release BM now and prepare a patch for update later…
lolno
You’re terrible, why did you come back?
I thought you flew away!
They already said it will stay with orange box version … maybe after mod’s release they will try to port it to Dota 2 engine with cloth simulation
You had been banned often than me you are terrible
At least I never pulled shit about BM out of my ass.
The mod is not done yet.
Cue Ram to reply with an “ORLY” link to download the mod :3
…
Well it was worth a shot I guess.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
