When Black Mesa Is Released: What Then?

I predict that in the first day, it will be downloaded billions of times, killing the internet so it will never be played by any of the tens-of-billions of Half-Life fans.

The end. Population = yes!

cough, cough

cough, cough

cough, cough

You should see a doctor about that cough :expressionless:

Tens-of-billions now eh? Everyone currently alive as well as those who aren’t-so-alive anymore?

Makes sense :stuck_out_tongue:

Yep, it’s THAT popular.

He He Hee…zombies playing black mesa mod, now that’s a mind picture you got to love!

Shit. I read “Black Mesa Released” and I smiled. Then I realised it was about the future. Oh well.

I plan to keep posting until my postcount reaches EXACTLY 1337, then either leave or only post in the ladies club.

k then

Well this is why the mod will never be released, the “black mesa mod” is just a joke, and thay will see how long will it take to the ppl to realise it=) my guess is forever

Your guess is wrong.

My guess is…

Dun dun duuuun

All trolling power concentrated on these forums will be directed to Steam forums to troll about Episode 3.

Steam forums can’t handle it of course. So Steam itself crushes under the weight of it’s own trolls and everyone loses their Steam Account.

Once Black Mesa is out the mod team will no longer be of use. They will be taken out back and shot.

To make an actual troll-free post, I just wanted to mention that whoever said that Valve wouldn’t hire anybody from the Black Mesa mod team really does not seem to understand that valve does pay attention to such things as this mod.
Some examples?

A] You know the short clip “Escape from City 17” by the Purchase Brothers? If not, either go kill yourself or watch it. Valve flew the purchase brothers out to Seattle for some reason, and featured them on the Steam page that pops up once you log in.
Source on the PurchaseBrothers’ youtube page. Quote from source: "Valve flew the brothers out to Seattle last year. and mentioned they were ‘blown away’ by the project on Steam. "

B] The mod Minerva by Adam Foster? He was hired by valve as a map maker for Episode 3.
Source on the Valve Developer wiki. Quote from source: “The mod was suspended when Adam was hired by Valve.”

Black Mesa has the ability to easily dominate both of those projects. The chances of valve contacting the mod creators, maybe even to hire some of them, is very high as you can see.

Yeah but a lot of the people on the mod team already have jobs.

I would be VERY surprised to find out some of the developers weren’t at least offered jobs at Valve after BM is released.

Now try to guess how many people have said that before you

He wins the thread.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
