What you expect from Deathmatch?

So I was just curious as to what you guys are expecting/hoping for from deathmatch?

More on the levels side. Of course there will be some of the original maps, but I personally am hoping they get creative with the DM level design to make it more than just a classic run-and-gun mode.

Specifically, traps. I’m really hoping for maps that have triggerable traps like classic Quake and UT maps, whether it being putting a plug in a pool to electrify water like the OaR puzzle, or physics based traps like destroying supports to crush players, or something even like being able to trigger the surgery bot from Questionable Ethics on other players. I feel like they could really make creative use of the setting to make for some really fun multiplayer maps.

So what kind of cool shit are you guys hoping to see in DM?

Bunny Hopping, Higher jump height, and balance changes to weapons. But most of all:

THE CROSSFIRE NUKE.

Traps, like you said. I wanna use the environment against my foes!

physical traps would be great !! not only triggered or scripted ones, but also something like switches for a broken elevator that crushes your foe, or a wood bridge you can shoot on so your enemies fall to their death.

They said no for bunnyhopping though.

A proper remake of Crossfire. There’s been plenty, but I want a reimagining on the creative level of the rest of Black Mesa.

A video game.

HL: DM, one of the best online experiences back in the day. I expect it to return in all its glory, just like during old times, but I doubt that’s going to happen. It will have its playerbase, but any larger number of players that would compare to “insert you know which shooter” let’s say is just wishful thinking on my part I guess.

Brands new maps, and hopefully good compatibility with MM & SM so modders don’t have to lose their shit everytime theres an SDK update.

That it doesn’t require Windows specific code and as such could run on OSX as well (just MP, SP can stay on Windows if that’s too much work).
