What is this? Please help ASAP

How can I get rid of this? it appears anywhere where there is water on the floor, please help

I’m the noob here, but this is definetly a bug. Probably something with the engine / water effect. Others can surely explain this in greater detail.

  1. Quit and reboot. Start game from a different map, seeing if this bug still happens.
  2. Check your graphics settings.
  3. Update your graphics card’s driver.
  4. If this problem emerged after you installed some kind of mod for Black Mesa, consider removing it. (Edit: backing up files before overwriting them is usually recommended even by the modders)
  5. If all else fails. Reinstall Black Mesa.

Before reinstalling did you delete Black Mesa from your hard drive? :bulb:

Hmm…never seen that before.Perhaps material bug?
I’d do what medkit said though.

What are your system specs? You’re settings are looking a little on the low side, and if your hardware is having trouble with the game it could be causing artifacts like that.

Nah, I’ve been through 2 ATI cards while playing BM (4000 & 7000 series).

Hm. Open up the console, type in “mat_specular 0” wait for that to finihs, then try “mat_specular 1”

Also, you could try running the game with the “-dxlevel 95” parameter.

My specs are
Processor: Intel core i5 3210m
Memory: 8192 MB RAM
Display: Intel HD 4000, ATI Radeon 7670m
I think that is good enough to run this game… well, I guess o.O

You’re running an onboard GPU right beside an ATI card? I’m not tech savvy, but isn’t that kinda stupid?
