what is this mdmp file type i been seening this on the bug reporting section and i downloaded and how do i open a mdmp file

A minidump is generated when HL2.exe crashes, it contains information about the state of the game when it crashed, as well as a memory dump to trace the cause. You can only make use of it if you have the source code of the executable that generated it.

You can open it in a text editor, but you won’t find anything of use, you need the source code to debug the problem.
