What in your life, are you grateful for?

Im happy to have my family, without them life would be pointless:[

I am grateful for honest friends, who call things as they are, not what they think I want to hear… (I am also grateful, that they use tact while doing so)

I’m grateful to not be dead.

I’m grateful for a great friend, a great lover, my skills, aptitudes, my talents, the fact that I live in a good place, and everything else.

always makes me wonder who the poor bastard is at the end of that chain. :frowning:

I’m grateful for a house and a decent paying job, awsome family and awsome friends.

I really can’t belive that this thread has gotten three pages long without anyone saying it so I am going to continue being the zelous Monk/Inquisitor that I am and say Black Mesa.

True that

An American businessman went on a vacation to coastal Africa, where he met a fisherman. And asked him “What do you do during your day?”

  • “I wake up in the morning, around 9, go to the sea, catch 2 or 3 fish, then go home around 11, give the fish to my wife, and she cooks them. And I spend the rest of my day sitting on the beach, watching kids play, enjoy the sun and warmth…”
  • “But, if you woke up 2 hours earlier, you could catch 3 times as much fish!”
  • “Yeah? And what would I do with all that fish?”
  • “Well, you could sell the surplus fish on the market and make some money.”
  • “Yeah, and then what?”
  • “Well, you could hire few fishermen, who would go fishing with you, and then you could catch 10 times more fish and sell those too, and make even more money!”
  • “Yeah? And then what?”
  • “With all that money, you could buy a new boat, and make two fishing trips instead of one, and catch even more fish and make even more money!”
  • “Yeah? And then what?”
  • “Well, if you continued expanding like this, soon you’d be a director of a huge fishing company, and would earn huge amounts of money!”
  • “Yes? And then what?”
  • “Well, one day, you will be able to retire, buy yourself a nice house on the beach, and just sit on a chair, watch the kids play, enjoy the sun and warmth…”

There is no chain. It’s a circle. We pity poor chinese farmers, working hard on their rice fields… And they pity us for our stressful lives, our divorce rates…

And that’s why Africa’s so poor and charity is wasted.

OH NO I DIDNT!

Vegemite

(rot)(fodder wins with the obvious Black Mesa plug.

MysticJ wins with intellect and enlightenment.

Oh, I just thought of a better answer than my first one.

I’m grateful I don’t ever have to go back to a high school type classroom ever again

AMEN TO THAT BRUTHA!

you assume that I had pity for people with a life like that.

it is humanly impossible to deduce whose life is worse than whose but somewhere, weather it is starving on a mat in the middle of africa or sitting in an office chair with paperwork stacked high, there is someone who’s life sucks more ass than anyone else in the world.

/offtopic

I am grateful for intellect, even if it takes us down the garden path a bit before we get back to simply answering what we are grateful for.

(Bwhaha I am grateful for the amazing creatures that are we)

I’m grateful dead.

I am grateful that I own the DW8000 synth that one of their keyboard players used on stage.

I’m grateful for the decadence of 5% of the world in contrast to the poverty of the rest of the world.

I am honestly grateful for the discovery of Green Tea.

hrm. And now see, I just don’t see the draw with it. I like cinnamon tea, or raspberry tea… but I taist nothing special about ‘green’ tea. :frowning:

Music, my girlfriend, and more.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
