It is interesting to observe what people are grateful for, and how many will say they are grateful for something, but this or that sucks…

Actually we are in a relationship really smilair to marriage. We live with eachother, we have sex on a regular basis etc. The only difference would be the ring and the altar, but we aren’t planning on marriage anytime soon. Maybe partner would be a better word

I see a difference there. I wouldn’t want to be a comatose patient, who is technically “alive”, but has nothing of life.

I’d say he’s got things to be grateful for. Like having a great mind that made a huge difference in science. And for having a wife that still sticks by him, if I remember correctly.
I guess I should be grateful for being still alive and in (rather) good mental health (now).

Really similar is not really the same tho. 
But I am sure you both are sure of what you want.
Knowing that no bad how your troubles may seem, that you’re always better off than someone else. Oh and grateful for Internets.
A lot of people just marry because it’s a financial advantage. Apart from that, marriage means fuck all these days.
If they removed the financial benefits from marriage and just keep marriage as a means of showing love, hardly anyone would marry.
