I only have a few pages left of Huckelberry Finn.
Because of my contest for teacher in history, I’ve got tons of books under my pellow :
- Romanization in western provinces of Europe (144 BC - 192 AC)
- Nativity of german and french people after the Carolingian dynasty (888 - XII century)
- Religious wars in modern times (XVI- mid XVII century)
- The british world (1815 - 1915)
My personnal readings :
- Sun Tzu, The art of war
- Hugh Laurie, The gun seller
Finished with my At the Mountains of Madness book and 6 chapters into Lord of the Flies.
I am reading “Driver’s Handbook” and “Driving a Passenger Vehicle” for my driving test.
That’s why this makes that book so special
I just read The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, and it was excellent. It has a drug-addicted dragon. Anyway, now I’m getting ready to start in on the The Color of Magic. It’ll be my first Discworld novel. Should I be apprehensive?
Is the dragons name Puff?
I’m almost done with The Color of Magic and it is extremely awesome. It has dragons, wizards, and Death is actually a character :freeman: . There is one part that I especially like where the space time continuum is screwed up for a few pages :fffuuu: .
If you guys like Colour of Magic just wait till you get to the next one, The Light Fantastic. He really hit his stride with that one and made CoM look mediocre in comparison.
Yeah, that’s what I heard. Can’t wait.
After the announcement of Halo: Reach, I’ve been determined to read “Halo: Fall of Reach.”
I had super low expectations coming, but I like it. It shows the Halo universe in a different light, and by light I mean the story is dark… very dark.
The SPARTANS were kidnapped as children and forced into harsh training. When they were given genetically enhanced augmentations, many died… or had their bones crippled to the point that they barely looked human.
Also, it makes the …cough… “relationship” between Chief and Cortana, less , well, retarded. I don’t want to get into it, but Cortana was based off the mind of a woman named Dr.Halsey, who John (the Chief’s name) knew as a child in SPARTAN training. I’ll leave you to read the book to see where I’m going with this.
Can we get Eric Nylund to write for Bungie? We fucking need him!
I liked Halo: Fall of Reach. And if you liked it to, you should consider buying Halo: The first strike. It takes place between Halo 1 and Halo 2.
Just finished The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. Very good book. Pithy and clever.
Before that I read The Catcher in the Rye. I’m on kind of a classics binge right now.
Finished The Color of Magic and am almost 40 pages through The Light Fantastic. The enchanted forest is hilarious .
Don’t forget Halo: The Flood, or whatever it’s called.
Or I could just play Halo 1 again on Heroic.
I just got done reading Murder Game (by Christine Feehan) for the 4th time. It is the latest romance/suspense/action thriller in a series. (A chick book)
I actually wound up putting a little movie together on youtube showing my choices for character representations of all of the couples in all of the ghostwalker books. I guess you could call it my own personal “Commercial”.
(Yes that is Joel’s music)
The taking of Pelham 123
I’m a little over half way through reading Halo: Fall of Reach. Sadly, I didn’t start until a few weeks before this week, and I have a book report due this week.
Wikipedia is God to me.
I am considering reading “To Your Scattered Bodies Go” and “Centauri Dawn”, should I?
