What have you been reading?

Just finished re-reading Philip Pullman’s trilogy (The Northern Lights/The Subtle Knife/The Amber Spyglass) for like the 20th time. Those books are way too good, they just don’t get old.

Sad thing is the first movie based on the novel was mediocre, and I don’t see how the next two could be any improvement :frowning: . I hate how Hollywood ruins certain books by making crappy movies based on them.

Some directors do get them right though (Meirelles/Peter Jackson).

I finished reading Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony today. It’s an awesome book and I recommend buying it if you have read Harry Potter and liked it. It’s just too awesome too dislike it.

wat

Surely you mean The Golden Compass, unless for some reason they gave it a funky name where you live. As for me, I’m still reading Discworld. At the moment I’m reading the Rincewind novels and the Witches novels at the same time.

Readn gravitys rainbow.

Only in North America was it called the Golden Compass, and that was an error on the part of the publishers.

This. The title published here actually translates to “The Golden Compass” (A Bússola de Ouro, for those who speak Portuguese, if any), but I figured since in most of the world the book is known for it’s actual name, that I should post it instead :stuck_out_tongue: .

Anyway, shouldn’t make it difficult for anyone who has read these awesome books to recognize the awesomeness of the trilogy when they see the other two names.

It turns kids into atheists  .

Gravity’s Rainbow sounds interesting from what I’ve read of it. Is it really as difficult to read as everyone says?

It’s sorta tough to get into but once you get to a certain point it kinda clicks.

DELETED

pride and prejudice
And Zombies

Is there any reason one of your posts has Pride and Prejudice capitalized and the other post has Zombies capitalized?

oh crap, it posted twice!

With Pride and Prejudice capitalize in one and Zombies capitalized in the other, though I see you deleted one of them.

Sorry ‘bout that. it didn’t post in my first attempt, Fuckin’ Wide open west.

Locke Lamora, I’m still waiting for the next book to come out.

And the god-damn movie!

Well I’ll be dipped.

The Forever War is pretty good, but for some reason dude sure does love to dwell on sexual orientation!

I just finished reading book 3 of the inheritance cycle. Currently waiting for book 4 by reading stories off of a website. ^^;

Now I am reading some Jack Higgins book. Something about submarines and world war 2. I dont remember the name.
