What have you been reading?

Been reading Airman from Eoin Colfer. Amazing book is amazing. probbly best book he wrote so far, not counting the Artemis Fowl series.

Right you bastards, I will drag this thread back to the world of the living.

I’ve been reading the new Terry Pratchett (I Shall Wear Midnight) and it’s grate. Also just read An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde, which was also grate.

I’ve been reading to kill a mocking bird, interesting read so far.

I don’t read. I fully experience the written narrative.

Darlah by Johan Harstad. Dunno if it is translated to english though, but it is pretty god damn awesome. Kind of a mix with all categories. Comedy, sci-fi, horror, etc… Would make the perfect movie.

WAT NEW PRATCHETT I THOUGH HE WAS DONE FOR SURE RELEASE IN STATES NAOW PLZ

Anyway, I’ve been reading the Culture novels by Iain M. Banks recently. So far, so good; Use of Weapons was great.

It’s a new Wee Free Men and it’s a true blue Pratchett. So good.

Also, Iain M. Banks is fucking gold. If I hadn’t taken a stupid gap year I would have met him.

FUUUUUUUUUUU-

ka-bump

I got myself into Pratchett’s young adult discworld novels (The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents and the Tiffany Aching books) after figuring out that they weren’t going to be as young-adulty as I feared. Now I’m starting on Good Omens - a Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman collaboration - because I just can’t get enough fucking Pratchett I mean dear god. Then I’ve got A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin lined up, because people just won’t stop talking about this book

John Grisham - The Firm

Richard Dawkins - The god delusion

Inversions by Iain M. Banks and Roald Dahl’s collected short stories, both are awesome.

Also recently finished the Machine of Death collection of short stories, put together by Ryan North.

Nice bump Goat, this thread needed to be revived.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Hmmyeah, I actually really like Harry Potter.
Always loved the movies, and now reading the books (I’m not exactly a reader, usually) because I always hear I’m missing out on so much just watching the movies. Thoroughly enjoying them.

:expressionless:

I also recently read a Clockwork Orange, if that compensates.

It certainly does.

Currently reading Gödel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas R. Hofstadter. So far it’s been a pretty awesome read. It’s basically about what produces consciousness, so to speak.

Doing my third readthrough of the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, amazing books.
Too bad he died, I was a little disappointed by Brandon Sanderson’s additions to the series.

Begining KGB the inside story by Oleg Gordievsky. Creepy to know we sucked back then in espionage.

Sorry, just my personal opinion. I read up through Winter’s Heart before I realized that I was forcing myself to read them. Stopped and never looked back. Moved on to Tad Williams, if I’m remembering correctly.

The books slowed down past 8 I think, I’d have to say that the best of the series are The Eye of the World, The Fires of Heaven, and The Shadow Rising…at least in my opinion, TFOH was the best of them all thought I think.
