I liked most of Borderlands, but the ending was…slap-dash at best and infuriating at worst. I’d like to see them do much more with the supposedly announced sequel, but as it stands the game is, at the very least, solid.

What does solid even mean? It didn’t collapse in on itself, which is something I guess, and didn’t glitch all over the place, but then that isn’t so much a compliment as a barely passing grade.

Recently finished playing Far Cry 2 - good God this game frustrated the hell out of me. I can honestly say I’ve never become so enfuriated at an inanimate object before.

It’s beautiful, there’s no denying that, but the weak story, rampant bugginess, lack of interactive characters, and the goddam never ending line of people who wanted to kill you had me almost shouting at the screen. The last point was the worst. The fact that it’s never explained to you satisfactorily way why every single person acts as though you shat in their mouths while they slept and now wants you dead.

I’ll try not to rant, but one scene sums it up for me. Standing at the water’s edge watching the sun rise after having killed 40 people just to get down the road, I was peacefully admiring the view believing that the game might be redeemable. As my back was turned however, a bug then replaced all the npcs on the map who then slaughter me. I was not pleased.

You just perfectly described how I felt about that game, and why I couldn’t play it for more than an hour at a time (and now not at all). Also:

The sad fact here is that, it’s not a bug, it’s a feature. As in, it’s intentional.

I played an HL2 mod called Too Many Crates. I’ve actually had it dl’d for a while and just hadn’t gotten around to playing it. Good god it’s fun. Great, mindless/puzzle-ey fun. Comes highly recommended.

Kind of realising how badly made New Vegas is. Sure, it’s fun, but there are bugs everywhere, the AI is terrible, the graphics are terrible and the animations are awful.
