So I’m replaying Stalker, since I got it on the steam sale. But this time, instead of going vanilla, I’m using the fancy new (to me) Stalker 2009 complete. And it’s fan-fucking-tastic :awesome: Especially the brilliant new skyboxes and the environment textures. The zone no longer stays the same shade of grey, it can actually be colourful, awesome.

Amen to that. Personally I played a shitload of GTA IV. And I was wondering, is it possible, as a PC player, to play with 360 players over Games for Windows Live and Xbox Live? Not only in GTA IV but in DiRT 2 too.
I think only Shadowrun has cross XBL/GFWL play.
I mean, can you imagine the unfair advantage PC gamers would have?
Well the only genre where it would matter are T/FPSes and console gamers got auto-aim so it wouldn’t be that much unfair IMO. By the way I found a list of games that are cross-platforms. None are interesting tho.
That’s a list of Games for Windows games. Not cross-platform playing games.
Though I may be reading the charts wrong, but I doubt the 360 can even run, say, Crysis.
It shows what games support cross-platforming, and there’s only three of them: Shadowrun, Universe at War: Earth Assault and Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition.
Wow. Fail on Microsoft’s part for having such a piss poor line up for an otherwise interesting feature.
Well, as you said, PC gamers would have a large advantage. Also, I suspect that it would be very costly to add such a feature and they would not get much of a return on that, since each group has a large enough community.
