Resistance, however, just isn’t fun at all.
I never played Resistance 2, but I quite liked number 1. The game that was boring as hell was Killzone 2. Visually great. Gameplay sucks.
Halo isn’t my favorite game, but it is a good solid shooter.
Sidenote: I find that with almost all shooters, the harder the difficulty setting, the more fun it is. Enemies react faster and fight smarter, so you have to do the same.
Killzone 2 was far from boring. I find both resistance games to be great, however the second was a lot more fun to play.
I figure Halo is as generic as they get, but it set the standard for generic so it has an excuse. At least the first one does.
I played the first 30 minutes or so of Bioshock 2.
Impressive, but my 360 controller isn’t working with it…being a games for windows live game I would have expected it to.
Play Resistance. Halo is god compared to Resistance (at least the first Resistance. I heard the second one was much better.)

Just because a game is generic does not make it bad. Halo is fun at times (Library freakin’ sucks though, and I will never forgive the series), but it is generic.
On topic, started Oblivion. On a mac. It lags like crazy but its still Oblivion.
Well, that’s one thing we agree on.
It’s fun when you play it with a friend, piss about on Heroic, somehow make it to the end, then betray each other and have to start all over.

At least in L4D2 the zombies are awesome. In Halo’s Library level, the zombies (or rather, “The Flood”) suck.
Finished Machinarium last night with the girlfriend and damn it is an amazing game! She did most of it, but I still got a few of the puzzles when we got stuck. Loving all the great indie games on Steam atm!
This is pretty much my opinion. I didn’t say Halo is bad, there are far worse games, but it is the most generic series I’ve ever played. Granted, I haven’t played Resistance.
